Mila's POV
"Fred!! Fred, come back!!" I cried, chasing after him. He turned around to see me, and started running away. My heart felt like it was shattering.
"Fred," I sighed. It was no use, so I stopped running after him. I walked over to a bench, and sat down on it to cry to myself.
What had I done? Why would I even decide to be involved in a 'prank' like this? Heck, it wasn't even a prank. It was harassment. Of course he was running away, I was a horrible person.
After a moment, I realized he was out of sight. Prob near the school. I stood up, and decided to walk back. The whole time I was beating myself up about everything I had done.
I got back and went into the common room. I planned to lock myself into my dorm room and not come out for a while, but Blaise, Pansy, and Draco were all there to stop me.
"You weren't gone as long as we expected you to be," Blaise said.
"Oh." Is all I could force myself to say.
"Um... is everything alright?" Draco asked, suspiciously.
"No. Everything is not alright." I shouted, and ran up to my dorm room before they could ask any questions. I made sure to lock the door, and I punched my pillow to get rid of some of the tension.
There was a knock at the door, and I refused to answer it.
"Mila, it's Pansy. Blaise wants to talk to you."
"I don't care."
"Mila, please."
"No."
"It's my dorm room too, you have to let me in if I want to come in," she said. I rolled my eyes, throwing one more punch at my pillow and going to let her in.
"There. You're in. Now don't talk to me." I said, falling back onto my bed and stuffing my face in my pillow. I felt like crying, but I couldn't when Pansy was there.
"Blaise sent Draco up to their dorm. He wants to talk to you in the common room." Pansy told me. I just stayed still and tried to ignore her. "Mila,"
"FINE. I'll go! But when I get back up here, I want silence. You hear me?"
"Yes," She said. I stomped down the stairs, and sat next to Blaise.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I knew this was what you wanted to talk about," I scoffed. "It's none of your business."
"Mila, I care about you, and clearly something happened. I got Pansy and Draco to leave since they're never much help. I'm just here to listen."
I sighed and took a deep breath.
Suddenly, tears just began to fall down my face like nobody's business.
I felt so embarrassed. I never cried in front of people. Especially my friends. It showed my inner weakness.
"Blaise, this prank idea was stupid!" I sobbed. "I felt bad about it today while we were at the three broomsticks, so I told him everything. Now he's upset, and I feel horrible. I was actually starting to like hanging out with him."
"Yeah. I noticed." Blaise said. He placed his hand on my back and rubbed it comfortingly.
"I don't know what to do," I cried.
"I'm sorry about this, Mila. It was partially my idea," Blaise said. He was still rubbing my back. "Do you like him?"
"I- I don't know." I sighed. Part of me was catching feelings even though I didn't want to. The other part of me just thought of him being the perfect friend, and now he hated me.
"You want to know what I think?" he asked. I looked up at him. "I think you should go find him and talk to him."
"He ran away from me, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to do that."
"Trust me. He does." Blaise said with a smile. I was very confused, but I wanted to believe that Blaise was right, so I ran out of the common room to find Fred and try to make things right.
Fred's POV
I ran into my common room up to my dorm to see Lee once again sleeping in his bed, and George reading a book for a class.
"Fred, are you crying?" George asked, throwing his book down and coming over to me.
I hadn't even realized I was crying.
"Probably, yeah." I said, sitting down on my bed.
"What happened, mate?" He asked me. I felt hopeless. I didn't know what to think. I mean, yeah, Mila liked me as a friend now but for a long time she was just using me for entertainment. It broke me. I didn't know what to feel.
"It was all a prank." I sighed. George just looked at me confused. "What I mean is she told me that she didn't actually want to be my friend. Her and her Slytherin friends all decided that they would 'prank' me by having her pretend to be my friend, and then once we got close, she was going to ditch me and break my heart just so her and her friends could have a good laugh."
"Freddie," He sighed. "Maybe that wasn't very nice of her, but let's be honest. We both knew it was probably too good to be true. She didn't actually go through with the prank, did she? She just told you?"
"Yeah. She told me at the three broomsticks."
"Freddie, that means she didn't want to go through with the prank."
"I know that. She told me that she actually likes hanging out with me now, but it still hurts."
"Fred, answer this. Do you really want to avoid the girl you love because of a little hard truth?"
I had to think about it.
"...No," I mumbled.
"You know what I'm going to say next."
I stood up, and hugged George before running out of the common room to find Mila.
