Break The Distance - Ashton Edminster

The plane ride was excruciatingly long. I felt like I'd never land, but here I was, standing in the airport waiting to wake up from this dream of a reality. I heard a scream from somewhere behind me and smiled because I know that scream. I turned around and watched my best friend run at me full force. My smile grew tenfold as I prepared myself for the collide of her body.

When Izzy finally bridged the gap and her body hit mine with enough force to knock me down, i felt whole. I'd finally met my best friend and it wasn't just a dream. It wasn't something i'll wake up from in half an hour and go about my day like it never happened. It wasn't something that i imagine while texting her the details of everything we'd do together when we did meet up. No, this was real and i was living it.

"Oh my god i'm gonna cry." I heard her whisper as she hugged me tighter. I didn't mind, i was holding on for dear life myself.

"This is actually real." I laughed, blinking away the tears in my eyes.

"Has Ash reached out?" Izzy asked, pulling away and wiping away the tears with a small smile.

"No, you?" I asked quietly, walking with her towards where Will was.

"Nothin'." I said softly. I wish she'd reach out, but I knew she would on her own. Unless it's bad, then I guess she wouldn't.

"Hello, Caroline. It's very nice to meet you after so long. How are you, darling?' Will asked me, hugging me shortly as to not make me uncomfortable. I smiled, feeling at home. There was a piece missing, and I knew it was Asterin.

"It's lovely to meet you too. I'm okay how are you?" I said.

"Let's go to my flat. Tommy and Tubbo are already there and ordering pizza as we speak." Will said, happily bouncing out of the airport. We followed, Izzy carrying my suitcase while I had my carry-on on my back.

I swear it took longer to get back to the house than the damn plane ride. While that was rather over-dramatic, it still felt like it. Once we arrived, Izzy took me to her room while Will walked to where I assumed the kitchen was as it smelled familiarly like pizza.

Izzy's room looked quite a lot hot I imagined it to be. There was music stuff scattered not only around the edged of the room, but on the walls as well. Even if the music stuff was Will's for safe keeping in a room that wasn't used as much anymore, you could tell Izzy had her own taste for music. There was a lot of LoveJoy merchandise on the walls as well as unreleased stuff I had the pleasure of seeing.

"We're still getting all of my stuff set up and in working order since Will and his band mates just moved in here, but it's coming along well I believe." Izzy said quietly, looking around the room with a soft smile. "Anyway, I figure me and you can either sleep in here on my huge ass queen sized bed, or we can all sleep in the living room."

"We can sleep in the living room." I said after thinking it over. We both walked out into the kitchen with smiles on our faces.

"Caroline!" Tubbo yelled, running over and hugging me tightly. I hugged back, smiling into his neck. "You're actually real!"

"Ive been saying that all night." I laughed once he pulled back. We just smiled, taking in one another.

"Move, bitches, i want my girlfriend." Tommy said, shoving past the both of us and wrapping his girlfriend in a hug. I turned to look at him with mock shock then back at Tubbo and we both gagged.

"Wrong thing to say~" Will sang. I laughed when I realized what was coming.

"How dare you call my best friend a bitch! Call her a bitch again and I will fuck you up! I'll call Jack! I'll call George! I'll call Eryn and Freddie, tell them all that you're disrespecting women, again!" Izzy yelled, pulling out of the hug to stare at him.

"Good thing i'm not afraid of those pricks, innit." He sassed back.

"Oh, the boy never learns." Will sighed, taking a bite if his pizza. He shook his head, the pizza moving with him, and it took a lot for me not to laugh.

"I'll call mother innit. Tell her you're disrespecting me."

"Pfft, mother would never- she would never tell me off."

"I'll call bloody Asterin, you want that? We may not be talking but I text her the words "Tommy's being a prick" and she'll blow your ass up."

"Anyone want some pizza? Pizza's good! I'll do all the cleanup afterwards, make a big mess." He laughed out nervously, speed walking across the kitchen to the pizza boxes.

"Is he really that afraid of Ash?"

"I say her name in an argument and he shuts up very quickly." Izzy said. Her eyes told another story, one I'd dive into another night. I looked over and saw Will looking questioningly at his phone.

"Everything okay, Uncle Will?" Izzy asked, walking over and hopping on the counter next to him. He showed her his phone and she hummed in response before shrugging and giving an apologetic look.

"Pizza?" Tubbo asked quietly. I turned towards him, my eyes disconnecting from the pair and towards him.

"Lead the way." I said with a smile. He made me a plate and I sat on the counter next to where he stood.

This is about to be the best summer ever.
