Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers, Coldplay
I sat on the couch, watching Tommy and Izzy chase one another around the house with Tubbo's head in my lap as he napped.
Will's flatmates were moving in tonight, so we had to either get out if the house or be out of the way in Izzy's room.
I could see why Will made that rule, Izzy and Tommy are being absolutely crazy right now.
"Come here!" Tommy yelled, laughing as he chased the girl back down the hallway. I heard a door slam and laughed, opening my book back up.
"No, wanker! Stay away from me!" Izzy laughed, though the words were muffled from the door.
"We should go on a date." Tubbo's voice came out soft and sounded tired. I smiled down at him and nodded.
"Yeah, we should."
"Good." He said, quickly falling back asleep. I chuckled softly and continued my book.
——
"So we're all just gonna go out?" I asked, sitting on the counter next to Izzy as both boys leaned their backs across from us.
"Yeah, why not? Double date." Tubbo said, smiling at me. I nodded as did the others. We all split up and got ready for whatever it was the boys had planned. Izzy ran several outfits by me while I just wore a loose tanktop and some shorts. She finally settled on a short sleeve she stole from Will's closet and a pair of shorts. She also put on her beanie which, how do you survive the heat with that on? That's beyond me.
"Pretty women." Tommy said before Tubbo nudged him. "It's true!"
"Whatever, let's just go." Tubbo laughed as we all walked out of the apartment. At first we just walked around the city, taking in the views. After a while we migrated to the beach and just sat and watched the sunset. Tommy and Izzy were leaning against one another, but I couldn't really comment as Toby's arm was around me and i pressed into his side.
Tommy and Izzy were having a quiet conversation while me and Tubbo sat in silence. It was comfortable really. I kind of expected it to be awkward, but it's like we've known each other for years. I felt connected to him in a way i didn't with Asterin and Izzy.
It felt good for once.
"I'm gonna miss this all." I whispered quietly, smiling as the moon became more prominent against the water.
"Why are we talking about it? We still have a good month and a half you're here. It's gonna be fun and worth while."
"I guess you're right. I tend to think too far into the future sometimes."
"You need to live in the moment. Take in what you can. You'll realize that if all you did on your trip was think about how it's gonna end, you're never really remembering and enjoying the time you did spend here." He whispered, leaning his head against mine.
"You're right." I laughed, reaching down to grab his hand. "I guess I just need to think less and do more."
Tubbo smiled, holding my hand back without hesitation nor a response verbally.
"So what next?" Izzy asked, pulling away from Tommy to turn towards us.
"I say we go back to the flat and watch a film."
Everyone agreed and we walked back to the house. There were no cars in the drive, so i assumed the boys were done moving in.
We all walked into the house and locked the door behind us.
"I am changing, be back." I said, walking back to Izzy's room for clothes. Once i grabbed a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, I walked to the bathroom to change.
I did a once over in the mirror and smiled, feeling content with myself. I walked back into the livingroom and sat down on the couch next to Toby. Everything felt so surreal with him, even just sitting next to him.
The lights were still on in the room, so I grabbed my book and continued reading. Tubbo pulled my back against his chest and played with my hair while his other hand scrolled through his phone. I relaxed, feeling content and safe and home.
"What do we wanna watch?" Izzy asked, settling down on the other couch.
"Up!" Tommy said with a smile. Nobody disagreed except Izzy, and the majority won i guess. She begrudgingly put it on, smiling softly to herself when nobody was looking. Tommy was laid across her, his head on her chest and his arms wrapped around her. She just played with his hair with a soft smile.
My eyes glanced up at Tubbo and his eyes were already on me. He pressed a kiss to my forehead and i smiled, looking back at the movie ive had to watch a million times due to my sibling.
