Chapter twenty-two
_____
Amit pushes the front door, and a breathtaking view is revealed to us. I will never cease to be amazed by the beauty of this place.
In front of us, in the center of the building which houses various plants, stands the majestic Tree of the Greenhouse. It is a gigantic tree with generous pink and slightly white foliage, similar to the colors of cherry blossoms. It has towering, sturdy roots that go deep into the earth and are seemingly as crooked as the school dungeons.
If it were allowed, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to lean against its trunk to spend my day reading, protected from the rays of the sun which infiltrate the Greenhouse by its beautiful colored cover.
It is true that from the outside, this place looks smaller than it actually is. We cannot imagine the number of plants and flowers that lie within it !
It's also a real maze, I remember that during my first botany lesson, I took so long to find my classroom that I ended up asking a student for directions. I was so absorbed by all the details of this building that I didn't know where to look !
Between the multitude of balconies with sculpted balustrades, the sparkling windows which wonderfully reflect the light of the sun, and all these butterflies which twirl on each side... There is no doubt, this is the most magical place of Hogwarts !As we move a little further into this vast place, we can take three directions : the one to the right, which leads to several small rooms where are mainly stored Venomous Tentacula and Chinese Chomping Cabbage; the one on the left that guides us to several classrooms; and finally the central alley of the greenhouse, which leads nowhere, although in front of a beautiful pond dug at the foot of an imposing tree.
Now that I have my bearings, I don't hesitate and take the left path without losing another second.
We go through a very short hallway, and reach the entrance to our classroom. As I descend the few steps that separate me from the ground, I watch the students present in class. Ominis is obviously there, as well as Lenora Everleigh, Samantha Dale, Violet McDowell, and finally, two of my dearest friends : Poppy Sweeting and Natsai Onai.
It's a lesson in a small group, but it's not so bad. We will be freer in our movements.
Of course, Sebastian and Garreth won't grace us with their presence until this afternoon, or even tomorrow morning.
I think of this poor Grace, who must be putting up with their perpetual bickering, despite being bedridden. Usually I would laugh at her fate, but I must admit that she has been useful these last few days. Of course she remains the wealthy little "daddy's girl" heiress that we all know, but I may have judged her a little too quickly.
I walk along the room, and once in front of our workstation, make a sign to Amit to inform him that I'm going to quickly greet my friends.
He gives me an approving smile and a thumbs up. This boy is purely adorable, I do not discern any ounce of wickedness in him. He has all the qualities required to be a Ravenclaw : wisdom, wit, intellect, and learning. On top of that, he is keen on astronomy. The blue and silver match him perfectly.
