Sweet and innocent. Unusual for a woman of her position. After all, she was a Queen. Rose only a maid. Someone who was far below her.

She had quickly discovered that Helaena was a good person. Never unkind, never disrespectful. Sometimes she was odd, she had to admit, but to Rose it only made her more endearing. The Queen often seemed sad and withdrawn, lonely and misunderstood, which is why Rose felt the need to take her in her arms.

"I want you to take this to Lucerys Velaryon," the Queen said, pointing to a plate of lemon cake.

"This is cake," she added explanatorily, as if that were not obvious.

"You want me to bring this to Prince Velaryon?" repeated Rose, surprised. She didn't think the queen would even want to bring anything to the prince, who was obviously her enemy.

Helaena just nodded and smiled slightly before turning back to her knitting.

Obviously, that was the end of the conversation.

Rose gave a small curtsy and took the plate with the cake. She had to walk almost through the whole castle to arrive at the chambers of Lucerys Velaryon. The guard at his door, looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"The Queen wants me to take this to the prince," she explained, hoping he would believe her. He looked at her doubtfully for a moment before opening the door for her.
