CHAPTER EIGHT

Noa

"Get your ass out of the bed we need to go!" My brother dragged the duvet off me causing me to groan and cover my eyes, "Noa get up."

He knows perfectly well that I don't like being woken up, I prefer to wake up by myself so I know I have the correct amount of sleep my body wants.

"Where did you go off to last night?" My brother asks as I wake myself up by splashing water in my face once I reached the bathroom and I wash myself with a cloth soaked in warm water.

"I went on a walk, why?" I raise a brow after I finish drying my face and then look into the mirror to see a few hickeys on my neck. Well she did do a good job, there are a few hickeys, each one more visible than the others. But Karen is someone who will cover the person she is hooking up with in hickeys, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I grab my makeup bag and cover up the marks on my skin, it seemed to work perfectly to cover up them all, you can't even notice them.

"Your neck said otherwise before you decided to cover them up." He laughs and I glare over at him, "I'm just saying!"

Caden walks out of my bedroom once I take out my uniform from my wardrobe. Once the door closes I start to get changed and realise I have no time to do my hair, I'll just have to brush and spray it.

The schedule for today is:

Art, break which will be cheer practice, English, Math, Lunch but I'm catching up on artwork, a free period which means an hour with Caden, and then History. It doesn't seem like a bad day to me.

It doesn't take too long for me to get dressed thankfully, I quickly brush my hair and do my makeup and making sure I smell nice. Luckily, I get out of my room seconds before my brother would lose his shit for me taking too long.

"Finally, let's get going." He sighs in relief when I follow him out of the house, getting my bag and putting my shoes on along the way.

We arrived at school a lot earlier than usual, we are on time. What the fuck is going on?

The two of us head over to the group, I see Quinn who greets me with a smile and then I see... Juliette?

"Hey, why didn't you come to the party last night?" Kai asks as he watched me walk up to the lot. Since when was there a party?

"What party?" I ask while taking a seat on the bench and looking up at the boy who has a questioning look towards my brother before returning his focus to me.

"I forgot who threw it but everyone went, your brother brought Zara with him and Quinn came too, literally everyone except you and Karen but she was sick apparently." He explains and I shrug.

"Nobody told me about it." I admit and he chuckled, "Did anything happen?"

"No nothing much, alcohol, music, sex." He scoffs and I hum and see a familiar car pull into the lot. And out stepped Little Miss Blondie, she has her hair in a braid today and her face doesn't have as much makeup as usual on. She still looks amazing.

I watch as she approaches everyone, greeting us all with a smile. Her eyes travel to Juliette who just smiles, it was the kind of smile that says 'Just do it' or whatever.

"Hey babe." My brother grins and Kai chuckles. I look just as confused as Zara does right now.

Babe?

Babe, babe, babe?!

What the fuck.

"Well, hey." She allows him to pull her into his arms, wrap her arms around her waist and pull her in, "I didn't know you would be here so early."

I think my heart just broke once again, twice in two days. I don't know why he even wants to do this, he knows how I feel about her but here he is all lovey-dovey around her, I'm grateful the two aren't making out.

"I came just to be here when you arrive, you know what I'm like, always late." He rolls his eyes at the end and Quinn nudged me.

I look at her and she signals to the car pulling up, Karen.  I know very well that she will either be pissed or laugh, it depends on her mood. If she comes to school with a frown you know it's going to be a difficult day.

The blonde steps out of her car, her eyes met with mine and as expected we remember everything because I see her lips curve into a smile. Thank god, no pissed-off Karen today.

And then they move onto the two against the wall, the smile fades and then she closes the door and made her way over. I take back what I just said, it's going to be a long day today and I really can not be bothered with it, not right now.

"What the fuck is going on?" She whispers and I shrug as she takes a seat beside me and Quinn, who moved to the side so she could sit here, "Can someone please explain why Caden is looking at Zara like he's crazy in love?"

"While you were sick, we went to a party and we did what one would do at a party, I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said yes." My brother explains and I feel my heart shatter even more in my chest.

I would much rather walk over shattered glass in bare feet than watch this. I would rather do anything than watch my brother date my crush. But now it's happening, soon she will be around every night and I can't change that, he can date who he wants to.

Zara looks confused so she removes herself from my brother's arms and walks over to her best friend, most likely to as questions about everything that just happened. I'd be asking the same thing.

"What does everyone have first?" Blair asks to change the subject, she is sitting next to Kai, her boyfriend. The two have been together for a year and a half now, it's a healthy relationship and things are going well between the two.

"Music." Quinn and one of the boys say. I don't know which boy though, I don't pay attention to them.

"English." A few boys answer including my brother, he has double English today and thankfully I'm only in one of them.

"Design," Karen replies along with Esme. Vivian and Juliette.

"Art," I say along with Zara who rolls her eyes in response and went back to speaking with her best friend like none of us are even here.

There's a few seconds of silence before Kai gasps and we all look at him.

"Nothing, just wanted to break the silence." He laughs which caused Caden to laugh.

"I'm heading to class I have things to do," I mention once I notice lessons start in eight minutes.

"I'll come with you." Zara says and I hear Karen gasp quietly, "I have to speak to the teacher, get a grip."

"What the hell is going on," Quinn whispers and a few people agree with her. Even I don't know because Miss Blondie here would usually wait a good ten minutes if I was here to go to class, she's used to me being late and so am I. To be honest, I'm not even completely awake yet so this is quite new for me too.

I make my way into the school with the girl following behind me, speeding up till she's walking by my side.

I feel her gaze on me for a few seconds before she looked in the direction we are walking in.
