Justin's P.O.V.

None of it matters now. It doesn't matter if Selena and I are cousins. Nor if she loves me back. It doesn't even matter if I'm adopted or not. It can all be any way it pleases. Because no matter what, it won't matter.

Fuck it, right?

"Hey you!" A girl yelled as she pointed at me.

I looked up to see Brianna, Demi's cousin. Well, would you look at that, I just got rid of her cousin. Can't anyone be alone around here?! She stumbled her way over to me, clearly drunk.

"What do you want?" I ask her as I take another drag from my cigarette.

She coughs, and blows the smoke away from her face. "Ew, since when do you smoke?"

I exhale the smoke and chuckle, "Since now."

I'd always seen Ryan smoke. And for as long as I've known, I always thought it was disgusting. Ryan said it relaxed him when his nerves were racked. I never understood until now. Although, I still think its disgusting. So, of course, it won't become a habit. It's just-- not long ago I thought I was going crazy.

"Okay," she says, unsure. "Why are you here, in the park, all by yourself?"

"Why are YOU here, in the park, all by yourself?" I smirk.

"Okay? Never mind... Where's Selena? She left me when she promised she wouldn't!"

"You thought she'd actually keep her promise?"

"That's not the question I asked you."

"And that's not the question I asked YOU."

"ARG," she groans. "Where the hell is she!?"

"How would I know that?"

"Aren't you like her boytoy-- I mean boyfriend?"

I chuckled and shook my head. "You can say I was used like a toy. . . But never a boyfriend. It was never that serious."

"But Demi said--"

"You believe everything that comes out of a person's mouth, don't you?"

"Not exactly," she says, "But they're my family."

"That's nice."

I shrug. "Don't know, don't care."

"Thanks," she grumbles sarcastically. "That's so useful."

"Alright, you're welcome,"

"Piece of shit," she mumbled, turning around.

She walked away from me , struggling to in her tall heels. I'm not sure how it happened but she ended up falling flat on her face. It came to me, like an instinct, that I should probably help her up. But then some random guy hurried to her side and helped up. I shrugged, stepped on my cigarette, and turned the other way to begin my walk home.

"Excuse you?!" she yelled.

I wanted to ignore their arguing but I couldn't. She yelled at him to leave her alone. But he wouldn't, he keep on insisting that they talked. I wasn't raised to where I can just walk away from a man abusing a woman, whether it's physically or verbally.

I make my way back to them and stand right in between the two. Looking him in the eyes, I don't see him. It's Oscar. And he's way beyond drunk.

"C'mon, she said to leave her alone," I warn him.

"Bro, this isn't none of your business. Me and her are just talking. Back off." his eyes are stone coal black. He definitely took something other than just alcohol.
