Y/N POV
"Sit still" Sun laughed, putting my makeup on in the dressing room. I was anxiously tapping my foot and looking in the mirror. I was feeling so distracted by the night spent with Jungkook I had not been able to concentrate on anything.
"Your so nervous" Sun continued. "You will be fine. Once your a professional like me"
She stood all proud with her hands on her hips. "Well not yet but one day ! We all will be super famous!"
I laughed. "I don't want to be super famous, small town famous maybe haha"
Sun then began to fix my hair and I lay back feeling sleepy. Jungkooks face appeared in my mind, him holding me close as we held each other all night. I smiled with the little secret I held so dear to myself. I knew my nerves were so high because he would be watching tonight.
Yoongi knocked on the door and Sun answered it. "Yes we are nearly ready " Sun said. The other girls were practicing their parts quickly and Sun took both my hands as she pulled me up to stand.
"Five minutes. Feeling confident?"
I nodded feeling myself shake. "Well no turning back now"
"Let's go!" Sun said excitedly. We made our way downstairs, wishing our fellow performers good luck. I was glad to see Hoseok and joined him at the back. Seeing him all dressed up in costume made it real we were about to go on in front of an audience.
"You will do great y/n!" He reiterated sensing my nerves. I nodded and said nothing continuing to descend the stairs. As a group we seemed to make a lot of noise.
We went to our usual places back stage, I peeped out along with the others and instead of empty seats we were met with rows and rows of people coming into the auditorium, some sitting and some still taking their seats.
After a couple of minutes, I noticed empty seats at the front and no sign of Jungkook. I looked at the clock. One minute to go. No. They were closing the doors. I looked at Hobi and frantically mouthed that Jungkook was not here. Hobi mouthed that he's maybe running late. My heart sank. Had I done something wrong last night? Was he leaving me for good, we were engaged. No! Maybe he changed his mind. Maybe he didn't feel a connection between us at all. Oh I just wanted to run off the stage.
Suddenly Yoongi appeared and the curtains opened. "Ladies and gentleman" He chorused. "Thank you very much for coming this evening. I am Yoongi Min, director of the company. Thank you for coming to our performance tonight, and our very special guest"
There was silence as Yoongi looked at the empty chair. He started to stutter. "I mean all of you, our special guests, each one of you we all appreciate your coming tonight. Thank you"
He walked off and took my hand unexpectedly and pulled me back up to the steps. "Where is your boyfriend the Prince, I just got humiliated out there" Yoongi whispered.
"I'm so sorry Yoongi" I whispered back. "I don't know"
He shook his head. "It's OK, just go out there and do amazing"
I nodded and returned to the group. Yoongi went back out to start playing the piano. We all went on stage for the opening musical number. Seeing all the faces of the audience brought a sense of nervousness and excitement. But my excitement was overshadowed by the concern of Jungkooks whereabouts.
I faked a smile and grabbed my broomstick. The lights of the stage were starting to make me feel dizzy.
Everything was passing like a blur. The first scene that had been revised without Jungkook was my first speaking scene.
