[8] Lady Wi-Fi

Aretusas POV:

It was finally the weekend, so I didn't need to set my alarm or anything. I rolled over and saw the time was 10:30am. I groaned and grabbed my phone. No notifications. I managed to pull myself out of bed and head over to the kitchen to fetch myself and Zorro some food.

"You okay Ari?" Zorro asked while looking worried at me as she was eating whatever berries I had in the fridge. 

"No, I think I lost the one person that meant the world to me because I'm afraid that if I get akumatized, Hawky will know that I know Cat Noirs identity. Even Ladybug doesn't even know that I know, ya know?" I rambled on. 

"Ari it's okay. Adrien will surely come back to you plus I think he would understand that you are protecting him..." Zorro started but got quickly cut off with my phone ringing.

I looked at the contacts name and dread washed over my face. 

Oh shit, it's him.

Zorro flew over to see what I was dreading over. Her tiny face got worried.

"Why is he ringing Ari?" Zorro questioned worriedly.

"Like how would I know he be ringing me Zorrs." I sighed. 

"Don't answer it! For the sake of me Ari!" Zorro said.

"I got to Zorrs. I can't not answer and make him think I'm hiding from him when clearly he needs something from me." I explained and without another word I clicked answer, hoping I don't fuck this up. 

I plastered a fake smile.

Me: Heyyy Butterfly man. What do I owe this pleasure?

Hawkmoth: Don't get friendly with me Aretusa. You had a job to do and failed to do so.

Man, he's pissed...

Me: Well, I would've gone through with my plan if one of your little puppets didn't try to kidnap me and also tried to kill me as well. You were to blame for this! I had to break up with Adrien because of all this shit that YOU put me through God Father.

Now I was pissed!

Hawkmoth: Ah yes. I heard you were kidnapped by Volpina. At least she gets things done and a way better companion to control with how pissed off she was with you. I'm sorry that you had to break up with Adrien, sweetie. I think it's for the best. So, then you aren't distracted with a boy to get me what I wanted. Otherwise, I'm going to get Mayura to retrieve Zorro and you will never be a miraculous holder. 

Me: But...

He cut the line before I could even say anything. Zorro looked at me with worry still clearly on her face. I know little buddy, I know.

What pissed me off was how he said that liar Lila is a wayyyy better companion to him when he took ME under his wing. She doesn't deserve to be his companion when I'm clearly better at what I do. I've done it for years; I can do it again and without distractions. Not to mention he called me sweetie. I shivered at that pet name.

I took a seat on the couch, flicked on the TV to whatever was playing because it's too quiet in this damn flat. Zorro came and sat on my shoulder still with a worry look on her tiny, adorable fox face.

"What's up Zorrs?" I asked her just to get her to stop being worried all the damn time.

"What master said Ari. It's gotten me worried that he will go to extreme lengths such as Mayura to come take me away from you. I really don't want to leave you Ari. You have become the best Black Fox miraculous holder that I ever had." She replied and sniffled.
