[19] Meeting with the Enemy

Aretusa's POV:

She guided me well more like escorted me back to the Agreste Mansion just so I can do this whole meeting thing with Hawkmoth/Gabriel. We arrived near the Agreste Mansion before Mayura pulled me into an alleyway just so we can detransform which wouldn't raise any suspicion in the public's eye. Welp, gotta keep a clean image hey?

Once we arrived at the Agreste Mansion, the gates opened up to reveal an angry looking Gabriel standing by his front door of his home. I smirked at Gabriel as he glared at me before turning on his heel and walking inside towards his office in which I followed suit. 

Once I was in his office, Nathalie shut the door just leaving me and Gabriel alone in the office. I looked around the room and nothing has changed from the last time I was in here was the time that he asked me to move in since he wanted to keep an eye on me.

"You hid." Gabriel stated as he was staring at his wifes frame. 

"I did." I stated back. What are we children? Just arguing over some stupid toy or something. Like come on Gabe. Live a little.

"I want to show you something." He said as he ushered me to stand next to him. I obliged. Then he pressed his fingers into the colored triangles on the portrait in which opened up a small hole in the ground which turned into an elevator taking us down into a basement of some kind.

This wasn't any ordinary basement; it was an underground flower garden with white butterflies hovering around. I saw a bridge over a makeshift river that leads to a capsule of some sort. It's very pretty in here but why all of a sudden that Gabriel wanted to bring me down here just to show me his makeshift garden with the white butterflies that LB cleanses. 

"Why bring me down here in your makeshift garden Mr. Agreste?" I hesitantly asked. He looked at me and gave me a reassuring smile.

"I wanted to show you this in particular." He said as he walked over to a capsule on the other side of the bridge. I followed him just to see what he was talking about.

"A plain capsule?" I questioned as he shook his head.

"Not just any capsule my dear God Daughter." He said as he placed his hand on a little keypad that is below the capsule in which opened up to reveal... Wait... Is that his dead wife?

"What?" I asked as I was shocked at what I was seeing.

"My dear God Daughter. This is Emilee my wife." He introduced as he was staring so lovingly at her.

"What happened to her?" I questioned as my curiosity go the better of me again.

"I gifted her a brooch that was in a shape of a Peacock tail. I didn't know it was damaged until one day, she was wearing it and bright blue light came out of it. It revealed a Kwami by the name of Duusu. Emilee transformed and she was beautiful as ever, but when you wear a damaged miraculous, it takes a toll on your body and makes you so sick to the point where it puts you in a state of comatose. I therefore managed to fix it but it didn't fix my wife and here we are." He explained in great detail. It was sad to think that if you wear a damaged miraculous, it can kill you. I sure hope mine doesn't become damaged. 

"I'm sorry about your wife Mr. Agreste but what does it have to do with me?" I questioned as I want to him to get straight to the point. He growled in annoyance as he turned to face me. He gripped me by the throat and pushed me aginst the railing on the makeshift bridge and glared at me.

"I want you to know that if I don't get Cat Noirs and Ladybugs miraculous' which grants me the one wish to bring Emilee back just so her, Adrien and I can be a family again. You'll be next to be in one of these capsules." He hissed and I gulped then nodded in response. He then let go and I breathed out a sigh of relief.
