17. Sharing The News

             I bumped into Ms. Phrien while I was on my way back to my apartment. "Oh, Hi Sheila!" she greeted me with a warm smile. "What are you doing outside? Did you go somewhere?" she asked. I hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Well... do you have time right now?"

            Ms. Phrien looked slightly concerned. "Yeah, I'm free at the moment. Is everything okay?" Her worry began to show. I quickly reassured her, "Oh, no, nothing's wrong, don't worry." I offered her a reassuring smile and waved my arms a bit to emphasize that all was well.

             We both headed inside my apartment and continued our conversation there. Ms. Phrien took a seat on the couch, while I fetched us some drinks and snacks.

             As I approached her, carrying a tray laden with snacks and beverages, she asked, "So, what do you want to talk about, Sheila?" I carefully set the tray on the table in front of us, ready to share the news with her.

             "Today, I was called to the campus by the dean." I began, taking a seat next to her. "The dean?!" Ms. Phrien's eyes widened in surprise. "Is something wrong with your application? Did they make a mistake on your exam results? Did you get rejected?" Her face wore a look of extreme concern as she bombarded me with these questions. I couldn't help but chuckle. "No, no, no, it's nothing like that." I reassured her, trying to alleviate her worries.
