48. I... Saw Myself...

             I saw her eyes widen as soon as the word 'accident' left my lips. But despite her reaction, she still waited patiently for me to finish before responding. "Uh... Well... w-while I was waiting for you at the rooftop, I felt hungry, so I decided to eat first like you said. But... after I ate, I just couldn't... taste anything?..." My voice trailed off, and Ms. Phrien's hands began to tremble slightly in response.

             "I-I thought it was weird, but I still continued and decided to try and eat some more. But then, as I ate more... I became more and more hungrier... like I feel full inside, but I also "feel" hungry... D-Does that make any sense?..." As I continued speaking, I felt her hands trembling more on top of mine as she listened intently to me.

             'What could her tremblings mean? Is she afraid of my 'symptoms'? Or is it so serious that she's trembling out of concern for me?... I-I don't even know what to think when she's reacting like this to my story...'

             "And soon enough... I-I started to feel dizzy and the next thing I knew was that I... couldn't control my body... at all! I-It started to move on its own, following whatever "instinct" it had..." My voice trembled slightly as I explained.

             "A-After that... I... I-I regained consciousness and... s-saw myself..." I felt my voice crack as I continued, tears forming in my eyes as I replayed the events that I had experienced. "O-On top of an... unknown man... n-naked..." A tear finally fell, spilling down on my cheeks as I choked on my words. Unable to meet Ms. Phrien's gaze, I released her hands to wipe away my tears.

             "It's... it's really hard for me to explain..." I managed to choke out between sobs. "I just... really can't remember what h-happened after that... It all became a big blur to me..." I closed my eyes, fighting back the tears. "But... s-seeing me in that situation... there's only one possible answer to it... and that we... d-did it..." My words hung heavy in the air, and Ms. Phrien's eyes widened in shock, a mixture of guilt and worry etched on her face.
