"That's not your business. It's better if you just explain me what I gotta do." Beomgyu's dry snap echoed in the speaker.
"Harsh!" Kai exclaimed, head lingering on Soobin's shoulder lazily.
"Fine." It was Yeonjun saying.
"Our friend is so screwed about yours." The ravenette spoke furiously. "You guys should tell him to be less of a motherfucker."
"Don't curse." Was Huening's low whisper, when Soobin spitted out the slang word. He didn't quite like swearing and stuff, quite inline his brother Jungkook.
His gentle whisper got talked over by the blonde, Jungkook's exhale. "Wish he listened."
"I thought there'd be something interesting." Taehyun scoffed loudly, as four the males could hear Yeonjun explaining in his monotonous voice.
"These guys for real be discussing the project." Grousing, Kai rolled his eyes, pissed about the set up was turning out to be an awful failure.
"Tell your friend to make a damn move, okay?" Jungkook groaned, as irritated as Kai. All their hardwork for these two and that damn project threw cold water on everything like that!
"I gotta, or else Beomgyu's really gonna be single forever." The youngest replied chuckling, and there was a wave of laughter all along. Then there was the ravenette, Soobin, who tended to act lifeless, but he too ended up laughung a little.
The three of them started chattering and fooling around as the other two over the speaker were just talking about something, you know, projects. Soobin was the mostly silent one, but still laughing quietly sometimes.
---
Sipping the coffee Yeonjun had served, Beomgyu drew his eyes to the male who was sitting across him on bed. His mesmerized gaze was glued to the younger's face.
"What's wrong?" The younger spoke up.
"There's something on your face." The other replied, lips curved into a smile.
"What?" Beomgyu asked, brushing the right side of his nose with his thumb.
"Beauty." The pinkette had his intense gaze fixed still.
One word. Just one fucking word it was! And it gave Beomgyu that twisting sensation in his stomach. The feeling he hated desperately. The feeling he never wanted to reach him ever again.
"The fuck Choi?" Beomgyu curled his upper lip, annoyed. He had to cover up for the giddiness that took place in his abdomen under the elder's foxy eyes.
"Nothing lol!" Yeonjun defended himself with the silliest smile ever. "So, Beomgyu, you understood what your part is in this project, right?"
Remaining his cold self, Beomgyu just nodded rather than being vocal. Can't you just speak up? Your voice sounds like church choir to me!
The older thought in his mind. "So then, I think you can now do the thing you wanted to do since you had arrived here." He said.
[I DONT KNOW Y I WROTE 'cHuRcH cHoiR' IM DAMN EMBARRASSED BUT LETS NOT REMOVE IT]"Yep, so if you not mind leading me to the door, then I can fucking leave." The walnut head rasped, eager to leave the place. The older grumbled something which the younger couldn't catch while getting up from his position and Beomgyu followed him to the main door.
"Bye!" Yeonjun yell-squealed from behind when Beomgyu walked out of the door without another word. "Wait!" He yelled again as a sudden idea popped inside his mind. And fortunately, Beomgyu still hadn't plugged his earphones in, so he heard the older male.
He turned around, and the next second he felt two arms wrapping around his body. The walnut-head froze in his position.
He sure didn't like it. He sure didn't like how safe and securely those two arms snaked around his slim waist, and how perfectly he fitted between them like it was all fated. His pulse was set wild, eyes wide, lips agape in the suddenness of the act.
Why was Yeonjun behaving this way? What the actual fuck?
Beomgyu pushed the other male and broke out of the embrace. "I don't like hugs." He blurted icily and walked away, leaving Yeonjun behind, who sensed a wave of guilt at the words.
Beomgyu got onto his cycle and drove off at the highest speed, wanting to get farther away from the person who gave him the feeling he hated the most. Nope Gyu, you're definitely not falling. It can't go this way. I won't let it.
---
"I don't like hugs."
Huening mimicked Beomgyu's tone silently and everybody started talking as the speaker went quiet after that.
"He should stop being the most anti-romantic bitch ever." Jungkook scrunched up his nose in disgust.
"Exactly." Soobin spoke after a long while, reminding the others about his existence.
" I forgot you were here." Taehyun scoffed at the ravenette and the other two giggled without any reason. However, Soobin decided to cling to his title of 'The Most IDGAF' person and clung to his poker face.
"Hey." Jungkook said to draw all the attention to him. "I guess we should now disconnect the speaker. Gyu has already left his boyfriend's."
Taehyun chuckled. "Yes, we better stop stalking now." He pulled his laptop onto his lap and the next moment shut it off. "Done!" He said with his shining black eyes and signature smiley face.
Jungkook stared at the male fondly and his lips curved into a whipped smile without even him knowing. He motioned his hand and called the other to come closer so he could whisper something. Confused, Taehyun shifted closer to the blonde and what happened next gave him roaming butterflies inside his stomach. "You know you look cute like that." He breathed lowly and then pulled away, making sure the other two present there wouldn't notice.
Well, if he was being honest, Jungkook himself didn't know why he did that. He just felt a strong and sudden urge to say it to Taehyun as if this moment had passed with that one line being unsaid to him, something bad would've happened. However, the atmosphere grew tense as he said that, so he decided to clear his throat and draw the attention to him.
"Huening, aren't you going home?" The mentioned boy was Jungkook's kind-of brother. Jungkook's mom and Huening's parents had always been bestfriends. Therefore, when Kai's parents passed away leaving the ten years old helpless lad behind, Jungkook's mom had adopted him. She had always been a single mother for personal reasons, so it wasn't a big issue either.
As brothers, Kai and Jungkook got along well, but they had different friend circles around. And being the responsible brother Jungkook was, he of course had to know where his little bro was staying, as Jungkook himself wasn't staying home.
"Soobin and I were supposed to stay at Yeonjun's, but bro shooed us away to discuss about project with his girlfie." Kai uttered bitterly.
"Then are you going back home?" His brother asked.
"Probs-" Huening just started when Taehyun cut him off.
"Hey, why don't you two stay the night over here?" He suggested. "We can spend the night playing on my PS5 if you want." He made his signature smiley face then.
"Sounds good." Soobin finally spoke again after a longtime gap.
"Bin, you sure your mom wouldn't give you free scolding?" Kai gave Soobin his genuinely innocent eyes.
The ravenette felt a wave of giddiness surging through him under those pair of eyes. "I wouldn't mind 'em. I'll tell her some random shits you know." He smiled slightly while initiating eye-contact, revealing his dimples.
They ended up spending the rest of that night getting to know more about each other, and mostly playing competitively on Taehyun's PS5. The cold impression Taehyun and Jungkook had about Soobin slowly faded away, as the ravenette was more and more comfortable with them. At some point, all of them were laughing like some maniacs escaped from a mental hospital.
Thank goodness, Taehyun's parents were out on a business trip!
