"Hey, y'all!"
The four winded their napes across from where the cheer had come. Huening stood there with an excited smile, and he padded toward them as he was greeted back one by one. "What's the matter?! Is everything okay again?!"
"Not sure about that, but if not, it's going to be soon." Taehyun sounded firm and confident.
Huening cocked a brow, but before he could speak a word, Soobin pulled him in. The elder landed a chaste peck on his lips, hands still cupping Huening's face as he whispered, "You look gorgeous as always."
Pink painted the youngest's face and the shade was deeper than usual, as they were in public. He shyly slapped Soobin's hand away, flustered.
Yeonjun looked at them, lips stretched in silent laughter. Taehyun made a face of being grossed out and disgusted, although in his head, it had reminded him of his one and only, Jungkook. Veomgyu eyed the two teasingly, a crooked smirk on his lips. "Get a room you two."
"Don't think we haven't seen those reddish spots on your neck." Taehyun scoffed.
Flushing slyly, Beomgyu fell silent and Yeonjun giggled. "We're boyfriends, what d'you expect?"
Soobin snorted. "C'mon Taehyun, who you asking? Tell us what's those on your neck?"
"Wait, don't tell me you-" Huening didn't end, knowing damn well it wasn't necessary. He stared at the peach-head, lips slightly agape as though shocked.
Taehyun lowered his head, slipping his hands into his pockets. He got flashbacks from the day before yesterday. He had gone to the bar once again after that night, and it ended in a drunk hook-up with a male named Hyunjin. The two had exchanged contact information the next morning after they'd woken up and promised to play video games later in partnership. Yesterday, Taehyun had remembered to put on the foundation to hide the hickey that was marked way too high up his neck. But today, he had unfortunately forgotten, as his mind was clouded with much more stuff. Guilt and remorse started to twist inside his stomach. He didn't want to appear as a characterless douchebag to his friends. And something at the back of his mind unconsciously prayed hard, so that anybody but Jungkook would spot that hickey.
"Taehyun, look at me," Beomgyu demanded, but the younger didn't obey. "I said, look. At. Me. Kang." His tone was soft yet dominating, which made a shiver glide down the peach head's spine. He swallowed, tears burning in his eyes as he gazed up. He was fighting demons inside the warm droplets wouldn't fucking roll down his waterline.
Huening pursed his lips, wrapping an arm around Taehyun's shoulders. The elder closed his eyes at the comforting touch. As much as the rough side of things hurt him, the soft side was worse; signs of affection made him want to start weeping.
"You still love hyung." Beomgyu softly spoke. "W-why'd you do this?" His voice shook a little, eyes radiating a different sort of hurt and betrayal. Yeonjun glanced at his boyfriend with concern in his orbs. He gently placed a hand on the younger's shoulder, but the walnut-head yanked that away with a harsh jerk, eyes darkening. "H-how could you?" He hurtfully demanded. "Y-you lied to me..."
Soobin and Yeonjun shared a worried glance. Huening tightened his arm around Taehyun's body. And Taehyun just stood there in, a stupor, motionless and overwhelmed with remorse. "I didn't..." He quietly tried to protest, but it faded in the chaos and hollers that swirled around them. "I just needed to... release stress.."
Beomgyu stared at the younger with disbelief. He gulped, struggling to keep his emotions in check. "Who are you? I didn't know this Taehyun." He bitterly uttered, desperately seeking an answer. "I didn't have this Taehyun as my best friend. What's gotten into you?!" He shouted, grasping the collar of Taehyun's yellow shirt and jerking it aggressively.
