Our plane just landed in Italy. We grab our carry on luggage and exit the plane. We make our way to customs before we get our suitcases.
Once at customs, we show our boarding pass stubs and passports. The customs officer also asked us why we were in Italy. We told him that we were visiting a friend.
Once we were done at customs, we went to get our suitcases.
Once we found our suitcases, we headed to arrivals to see if Max was waiting for us. We were just approaching arrivals when Greg spotted Max. Greg was trying to get Max's attention. Once we were visible in Arrivals, Max saw us and was walking towards us. Once we met up with Max, he offered to take my suitcase to his car. I told him that it was very kind of him.
The three of us walked out of the airport. Greg and I followed Max to his car. Once at his car, he put our suitcases in the trunk. I got in the back seat of thecar. Max said that he wanted Greg in the front seat, so he could talk to him easier. I told him that was fine with me. We left the airport parking lot.
On the way to Max's house, Greg was sitting in the front seat talking to Max. Greg glanced at the dashboard. He noticed that Max was going between 120 and 130 kilometres an hour. Greg looked out the window to see if he could see a sign with the speed limit on it, but there was not any in sight. He did not ask Max about his speed he just stayed quiet.
Once Max got on the highway, he sped up the car to 200 kilometres an hour. At this point, Greg spoke up. He asked Max "Aren't you going a little quick." Max replied by saying "No, no It's okay. While the conversation was going with Max and Greg, I thought to myself that this must feel like when racing a car on a track.
Once we were off the highway, I asked Max if the highway speed was the same speed as on the race track. Max told me that it was pretty close to it. He continued to say that some tracks they would go faster or slower depending on the configuration of the track. I also asked him if Italy did not really have restrictions on speed on the roads. He said that it depends on which part of Italy you are in. He told us that we were almost in Como which is the city he lives in. He also told us that his family is from there.
Greg seemed to be very quiet at this point of the drive to Max's house. I asked him if he was all right. He told me that he was okay. He also told me that he was a bit tired from our flight from Scotland. I told him that I also was a bit tired from our flight.
At this point Max asked Greg and I how the England and Scotland part of our trip went. I told Max that Greg surprised me once we landed in England. He asked me what the surprise was. I told him that the surprise was that my mum picked Greg and I up from the airport. I also told Max that we stayed with her for the 2 weeks we were in England.
After the two weeks in England, I continued to tell Max that Dario picked Greg and I up to stay at his house in Edinburgh. He asked Greg if he saw anything special at Dario's house. Greg said that he did. He told Max that he was touched with what Dario did and what Greg means to him. That made Max smile. He said that he was glad to hear that Dario made Greg's day and that he had a great time.
After Max asked us about the first part of our trip, he told us that we would be arriving at his house soon. Greg and I were glad to hear that because we were both tired of being in the car and tired of travelling period. We just wanted to be in a comfortable stable place after all the travelling. Max told us that we were almost at his place and we could just relax.
Once we arrived at Max's house, he helped me out of the car and into the house because I was a bit wobbly on my feet. Max sat me on a chair in the living room. He went back outside to help Greg with our suitcases. It did not take long to get the suitcases from the car.
