It has been long since I received and wrote the letter to Saraphina. Greg as usual checks the mail.
As soon as he returned from the mailbox, he had a huge smile on his face. He showed me that there were two letters. One letter was just addressed to him. The other letter was adressed to both of us. The letter addressed just to Greg was from his dad. I am curious about what his dad had to tell him because Ric usually does not mail letters to us. The letter addressed to us was from Greg's sister Annie. We were surprised about that also because she rarely sent Greg mail unless it was for his birthday.
Greg took the letter from his dad and told me that he was going to read it privately in our room first before sharing it with me. I told him that was all right off he went to our room to read whatever Ric had written.
It was not long until Greg came back into the living room with the letter from his dad in his hand. He also had a grin from ear to ear. That expression gave me the signal that it was fabulous news. I asked Greg why he was so pleased. He told me that his dad received a letter from the West Coast Kart Club in Chilliwack. He continued to tell me that the kart club wanted to rename the kart track the Greg Moore Raceway in Greg's honour. I told him that I thought that was wonderful because it was another way to keep his racing legacy alive to the future children that start go karting.that made Greg quite happy knowing that he would inspire future generations of race car drivers. He also told me that the dedication would happen in November according to Ric.
After he told me that fantastic news, I asked him if it was all right if I opened the envelope addressed to both of us from his sister. He said sure . I opened the envelope from Annie. I took out what looked like a beautiful invitation. I wonder what we were invited to I told Greg. He told me to open the invitation and see. I opened the invitation. It was a wedding invitation to Annie's wedding. The invitation said that the wedding would be February seventh next year. She also said in the invitation that Greg was very special to her and it would mean the world to her if he and I could attend. I told Greg that with both of these events that we will become busy.
It is just autumn now. I suggest to Greg that he call his dad to get more information on the dedication, so we can plan to get organized for Annie's wedding in the winter. Greg thought that was a good idea. He informed me that he will call Ric tomorrow morning. He also asked me to remind him about it because his memory is bad and he is very forgetful at times. I told him that was not a problem and that is what wives do.
The next morning, when we got out of bed, I reminded Greg that he needed to phone his dad about the kart track dedication. He thanked me for the reminder. He then went on with his normal routine with Ryliegh.
Once he was done his thing with Ryliegh, he got the letter his dad sent. He then grabbed the phonebook. He then checked the time before heading to the living room where the telephone was.
Once he was in the living room, I could see a confused look on his face because he could not remember why he was in the living room. I smiled at him and told him to look at the letter in his hand or the book in his hand to jog his memory.
As soon as he looked at the phonebook, it jogged his memory of him calling his dad about the dedication at the kart track. He picked up the receiver of the telephone. He then found his parents telephone number and dialed it.
It was not long until Greg said Hello dad. He told his dad that he just received his letter yesterday. He told his dad that he was calling to get more information on the dedication in November. He also told his dad that we received Annie's wedding invitation. I could see Greg grab the pad of paper that was near the telephone and pick up the pen near it up and start to write down the information about the dedication I figured.
