Winter has melted into spring. It has been less than two months since attending Annie's wedding. With all the events that occurred the passed few months, all Greg wants to do is recharge after being in the spotlight. It is well reserved. We start our normal routines this week. Greg goes to the mailbox like he usually does after his routine with Ryliegh.
Once he returned from getting the mail, he had a huge smile on his face. I asked him why he was so happy. He then showed me an envalope addressed to him, but there was no return address anywhere. He told me that he was going to our room to read whatever the mail for him could be and who it was from. He then walked to our bedroom and shut the door.
It was not long until Greg came out of our room. He came into the living room with a huge smile on his face. I thought to myself that Greg's mail was a letter from someone he never expected to hear from. He was very pleased to tell me that the letter he received was from an old friend from his racing days. He continued to tell me that his friend's name is Jason Priestly. The expression of shock went on my face. I asked him if he was referring to the Canadian actor that had a radio show during the depression. Greg said proudly that I was correct. I told Greg that I listened to Jason on the radio as a child. That put a smile on Greg's face. Greg told me that he had not heard from Jason since he left for the Royal Canadian Air Force training. I quickly thought that it had been 27 years since he saw his friend.
The letter had said that Jason was shooting a film. He also said that if he had a day off from filming or media spots then he would come for a visit. I thought this was great because Greg could see one of his close friends that he had not seen since before the war. I told him with a smile that he knew a lot of interesting people. I told him that they were race car drivers and actors alike. Even if, he really only knew one actor.
After showing me the letter, it looked like Greg was thinking about something, but I had no idea what it could be. He did have a smile on his face while he was thinking. I thought to myself that he was thinking about the fun times he had with Jason.
It sounds like could come by any day now. It gives me the perfect opportunity to give the house a quick tidy. All i did was put things back in their proper places. Greg helped by putting items that were his away where they belonged.
After the quick tidy of the house, it looked much cleaner than it was before. I told Greg I did it so the house would be ready for whenever Jason drops in. Greg called me a smart cookie because I think of things in advance of events happening like company that just drops in unexpectedly. I also told him that I wanted to make a good impression when Jason comes over. Greg told me not to worry so much about it because Jason is a very kind person. Greg told me to just be myself and that Jason would like me to act normal. I thanked Greg for telling me that I should be myself because then I do not feel as nervous meeting Jason now.
The thought in my mind was that Jason would not be kind to me because I am challenged. Greg told me that Jason is a very accepting person. He continued to tell me that Jason treats everyone with respect and dignity no matter if someone is challenged or not. He treats everyone with the same respect. I gave Greg a shy smile because I was still a bit uncomfortable. Greg told me not to because Jason is Canadian and Canadians respect everyone and are very polite as well. I remined that I knew that because when I first arrived I could not understand why everyone was so polite to me even though I have challenges.
The next day, Greg does his normal morning routine with Ryliegh. Once he was done his routine with Ryliegh, he went to the mailbox. He was not gone for very long until I heard a knock at the door.
As I went to go open the door, I thought to myself I wonder who that could be this early. I opened the door.
At the front door, a well dressed man with short black hair and facial hair was standing on the front porch. He introduced himself as Jason Priestly. I told him that Greg will be arriving shortly from getting the mail. I invited him into the house. I told Jason it would be a pleasant surprise for Greg to see his friend when he returns from the mailbox. He thought that was a great idea. We went to sit in the living room to wait for Greg to get home.
