As I continue to work on my organization, the process has slowed down as I am not getting any help by the government for this initutive to help physically challenged children. When I phone the government for financial help they deny me of it because they do not believe that these children can live independently. I know the government is wrong. I will keep trying to get funding for my organization. The BC Centre of Ability did tell me where to get the forms to register my organization. I got the paper work for my organization, but it is taking a long time to fill out all the forms. It is making my think I need legal help. I think I just need to take a break from setting up my organization for awhile. I told Greg this and he agrees with me. He told me that he sees me stressing over it. He does not want to see me stressed. I told Greg that once I get a lawyer to help me understand the forms then I will not be thinking of the organization at all. Greg thought that was a great idea. It is time to let my mind wander a bit.
The next day was the first day of relaxing my mind. I do not want to think of my organization at all today. I was relaxing in the living room reading a book. I few minutes later my relaxation was interrupted by the telephone ringing. I got up off the couch answer it. When I answered the phone, the person identified himself as a representative of the BC Sports Hall of Fand and Museum. He asked if he could speak to Greg Moore. I told him one moment, so I could give my husband the phone. Just as I said those words, Greg walked into the living room asking about the telephone. I told him that the phone was for him and handed him the phone. He said hello and the person introduced himself to Greg. The same way as he did to me. I watched Greg's expression went from emotionless nuetral expression to a very shocked one. I wanted to ask Greg what the man said, but I knew that Greg would tell me once he was done his phone call. I felt as though Greg was on the phone for a long time, but it was not. The suspence of what the phone call was about was getting to me. I was getting fidgety because I wanted to know why he was saying yes to everything the man on the phone.
As soon as I heard Greg say thank you, good bye and hung up the phone, I quickly asked him what the phone call was about. He told me in an excited voice that he had the honour of being inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. I told him that was amazingthen I asked him why. He told me that he was inducted because of the contributions to the sport of auto racing. He continued to tell me that the man wanted items from his childhood and racing gear to put on display. The man also wanted one of the cars Greg drove. I asked Greg about how would he be able to get the car. He told me that he would have to make a phone call to the owner of the team he raced for about getting the car. He also said that he should call his parents about this because they have all the childhood memorabilia and his racing gear. I told him that was a smart idea. He was getting so excited about this endeavor that he almost fell to the floor. I told him to sit on the couch and calm down for a bit from the phone call. Greg said all right and sat on the couch next to me.
I asked him how he would contact his old team owner. He told me that he was not sure. I suggested he send a letter to Dario to see how to contact the team. Possibly get the information to take to Tag about it as he replaced Greg on the team. He agreed that it was the best idea. He asked me to write the letterwhile he told me what he wanted to say to Dario. His fine motor skills are still affected by the brain injury, but i do not mind at all. All Greg wanted to ask Dario was if he knew Gerald Forsythe's information. If he did not then to send him Tag's address, so we could ask him. I addressed the envalope and Greg stamped it. He said that he would mail it in the morning. He also said that he will call his parents tomorrow about the induction to the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
Greg has had too much excitement for one day and is emotionally exhausted. I could tell by his actions the rest of the day. He was very quiet in the afternoon and evening. He even went to bed before me. That is not like him at all. I have known Greg for twenty years now and I still cannot completely understand his brain injury and how it affects him.
