You thought by now, Mira would stop thinking about Zack. You were wrong.
You could tell by the way her leg bounced up and down from the floor. And how she just seemed anxious all together.
Not to mention the fact that she hasn't written a single thing in the twenty minutes you've both been in there.
You put your hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, let's take a quick break, ok?"
She looked at you and smiled a bit.
"Yeah, ok..."
You got up and took her hand. She followed you out into the lobby, near the snack bar.
"Stay here."
She looked at you confused as you let go of her hand.
"Don't worry, I'm just going to the restroom."
So you left her there. The bathroom was just down the corridor. It was separated by gender with the boys being across from the girls.
You went in and looked around. It was empty. Perfect.
You pulled out your phone and made a call.
Looking at the contact ID made you want to puke and make a very visible face of disgust.
Maybe I should flip a coin? Make a bet? Disappear?...
Your mind was racing.
Sometimes, the hardest challenges we face isnt school, getting a job, asking a girl out on a date, but maybe deciding whether or not to make a single phone call.
Because out of all you've been through, it felt like all your worries could be digressed down to a miniscule phone call. Though you'd be telling a lie if you were to say you weren't being dramatic...
But this wasn't your whole life, at least not right now. You needed to make your choices before someone interrupted you and before Mira and Zack landed in more trouble.
So you chose to suffer.

"You asked for me?"
Your foot was lightly tapping on the tiles of the bathroom, slightly glancing at the big mirror on the wall, gauging your own reaction.
"I thought we understood each other."
You were biting your lip and leaning against the wall.
"I thought I told you to loosen my leash a bit. Yet you still have eyes on me..."
You heard him smile sadistically on the other side of the line.
"I can't keep you here if you act this way. I don't want to have to tell a man that his daughter is getting drunk in a foreign country with a group of boys."
"Then don't. And I won't tell him about your... well everything."
You laugh, it sounded lighthearted despite how much the two of you felt nothing of the sort.
He noticed the change in you as he heard water running now.
You started the sink while wedging the phone between your ear and shoulder. A group of girls walked in.
It was better to pretend to be washing your hands after coming out of a stall rather than have them look at you crazy for coming in there just to make a call.
They were talking loudly and were blocking the door.
Noting you weren't in a private area, the man you were talking to changed his tone as well.
You decided to just leave the bathroom all together, and so you muttered an excuse me while making your way through the strangers.
You let him lead the conversation while still holding the phone up to your ear and passing by people down the corridor.
"[Y/n]. This arrangement isn't trust based. We both have things we want. And given your history, you need to be careful."
If you didn't know who you were talking to, then maybe that statement would sound more like friendly advice rather than a threat.
Not like it mattered much either way.
"I've already made up for it anyway."
You smile genuinely this time.
"Hm?"
You could hear him shift in what you guessed was a sitting position.
You could see the lobby just a small distance away from you, you were already looking for where Mira had gone to.
"Sorry im busy, I can't elaborate right now. Bye~"
Click.
You hummed to yourself, satisfied with the outcome. He hadn't had anything major to lecture you about, so it was a win.
And you learned that friends and enemies are both great for one thing, being an inconvenience when it'll irritate you the most.
Mira was no where to be found in the main lobby, where you had originally left her.
You should have expected this in the first place, after all Mira wasn't one to sit still when she had a lot on her mind.
The 'a lot' being Zack.
