"Hello, young ladies, that's the same school uniform my son wears. Do you girls know him?" The woman smiled at both you and Mira. She seemed like such a kind and genuine person that it was hard not to smile back.

You deadpanned and looked at Daniel.

"Isn't he your son?"

Mira looked confused too, had these two not come here as family?

"Ah, no, this young man isn't my son. My son is a bit shorter and very handsome."

Mira looked at you, and you just shrugged.

"Sorry ma'am, I'm sure I've seen him, but I can't recall."

You apologized to her and then noticed how Daniel got up anxiously.

They were on their way out when you stopped them, "Excuse me ma'am, I never caught your name."

She stopped and apologized for her rudeness, in which you just reassured her.

"I'm Seonhui Park, and you are?"

You smiled and introduced yourself

"I'm [y/n], and this is Mira. It was nice to meet you, even just briefly."

She matched your smile and held her hands together.

"Oh, what sweet young ladies the two of you are.. I hope to see you again someday."

Mira waved as Daniel and Mrs. Park said their goodbyes.

"See you at school, [y/n], Mira." Daniel smiled bashful and looked back at you two, then followed Mrs. Park.

"It's time you got home too, Mira."

She pouted and slouched her shoulders. "You'll come out with me again soon, right?"

You laughed and followed her out. "Of course. I'm not gonna dissappear in the matter of 24 hours."

She turned and hugged you, "Alright then, you better not."

"I promise."

You stood in place as she walked towards her house. The two of you waved each other goodbye.

You made your way too. You would've walked with Mira, but you've got business to attend to, unfortunately.

It was a place much darker and secluded than what you promised you were heading off to. A car, flashy, tinted windows, and a new finish.

The driver window rolled down for you.

"I thought I told your boss I didn't need a babysitter. And here you are following me while I'm out with a friend?"

"Get in."

The man driving didn't even bother to look at you when he talked. He was cold, watching the road and not paying you any mind.

You didn't make a move, just standing there. You refused to follow an order without having at least an answer first because to not do so would be foolish.

"[Y/n], we give you clothes, food, school, and a place to stay. What right do you think you have to question us? get in the damn car."

You think for a moment, he's stubborn, but so are you.

"Where do you plan on taking me, Samuel?"

His nose scrunched up in annoyance. He was a busy guy, but he had a tight leash, and you knew that.

"Eugene wants to see you.."

You smiled smugly at him and got on the other side to open the passenger door and got in.

"That wasn't so hard?"

He just glared at you as you heard the doors lock and the engine roar. He sure does love his cars, huh?

You went to the radio, shifting through the stations before getting a slap on the hand.

"Stop putting your fingerprints on my shit."

You sighed and sat back in the seat.

He was already in a pissy mood because of how arrogant you were being with him. The last thing he needed was you giving him more reason to throw you out and get in trouble. This car was expensive.

You sat looking out the window for a long time. It was soothing almost. It would've felt better if Samuel let you roll down your window. But you didn't want to complain too much.

"So, how's work?" You had your elbow on the arm rest and propped your head on your hand.

"Everything's fine." His finger was tapping on the wheel, and that's when you noticed his hands.

He had rings, no doubt name brand and expensive as all hell. Not to mention that suit, white with a black tie.

"You should put your badge on."

You reach into your pocket, it was a black badge, it's was small and not very official. After all, black badges were reserved for people very special. You weren't really up to their level, in strength at least. But were a cunning thing.

You stuck it to your shirt and watched it for a bit.

Eugene gave you a black one because of how useful you were to him, not because you were really qualified for it.

But you were determined to change that. That's the only reason you don't put up a fight. If you're going to be stuck here, then you'll do it in a way you won't be looked down upon.
