"You

"You... want me to get close to Crystal Choi?"

You were taken aback, and he told you to avoid her at all cost. Even though you had accidently run into her a couple of times already, although you only realized this after.

"Yes. She would already be familiar with you, given your heritage. You just need to beware of her father."

Eugene was dead serious. He didn't even bother trying to act otherwise for the sake of theatrics.

"Charles Choi? Would he even let me get close enough to her? Especially with her body guards."

You were sweating a bit at the thought alone, cunning? Yes, you were. But these guys had more connections than you and more experience along with strength. Eugene wanted you to trust him, but you couldn't.

But at the same time, betraying Eugene was out of the question.

"Gun and Goo won't be a problem. As long as you get to Crystal without being in Charles raidar first, he won't just have his daughters friend dealt with like that. At least not right away."

You glared at Eugene. You didn't like what this was leading up to.

"And what about my father? I'm assuming he's in this somehow."

Eugene sighed and leaned his head back, looking at the ceiling while his legs were crossed and his arms were in his lap.

"He's planning on expanding business, growing connections and such. If he's in kahoots with me, then he'll also want to be in touch with the Choi's."

You gritted your teeth and clenched your hands together.

Your father was an ambitious man. While Eugene was keeping an eye on him through business transactions made with him here in South Korea, it gave him no reason to leave America and have more room to explore his hobby.

So, of course, if your father was going to do business in a different country and wanted the best outcome, then he would desire to connect with as many big names as he could and not just one. But if he were to make good with Mr. Choi then he would be out of Eugene's control, and you would just be another pawn in his game, again.

"And so I serve as a bridge between Mr. Choi and that demon by making friends with his daughter? I'm assuming you're not just going to give him what he wants, right? Eugene."

Your voice was getting a little louder as time went on, but eventually, you just stopped.

Eugene was just letting you talk, but you noticed the tension in the room, Mandeok and the guy in the cap were keeping a close eye on you. You were forgetting yourself.

"Calm yourself [y/n]. I'm not sending you there to sabotage myself, I have a plan."

You didn't like how he phrased that, like you were just some tool.

He looked composed again, sitting up straight and neutral. It was just like he was when you first walked in. And when you first met him.

"You're not going to tell me?"

You were deeply uncomfortable. Your heart ached, and you wanted to just go home and shut yourself in.

You had gained a little bit of control when you and Eugene had first started talking. But now, you've lost it all. All of a sudden, your clothes were becoming uncomfortable on your body, and the air felt like it was trying to suffocate you.

"Just this once, trust me."

You stood up.

"Yeah.. okay."

You walked out, not paying any mind to how Mandeok watched you as you carelessly made your way past him.

You were embarrassed at how quickly you managed to lose your cool. But you couldn't help it, with each moment you sat there helpless, the more unbareable it became.

"You're just going to let her leave like that?" Mandeok closed the door behind you and locked it.

Eugene took a heavy breath. he was slightly exaughsted. He crossed his arms and looked out of the big window in the room.

"It doesn't matter. I'm already starting to learn more and more of what she's worth."

He smiled.
