I walked into the school with my hoodie up and tied tight around me, one could barely see my face. Today, I was in stealth mode. Normally I would be dressed to impress in my uniform-like style but today was different. Today Link and Gina had dragged me from my house in sweats to do a school prank. They both wore black outfits and on our way, Link kept referring to himself as a ninja.

When he recruited me, Link said, "We have to do it now before no one expects it. If we wait, everyone will be expecting it. Think Amelia."

I didn't have a response but I did punch him in the shoulder at the last part. Gina just laughed and now I had a bag of shaving cream in my bag while Gina had cups of paint. The idea wasn't set up to be particularly genius but Link just wanted a reason to run wild. The only reason I had agreed was because he had assured me it was all fun and no one would get hurt. I should have known better, this was Link we were talking about.

Yet, I came and sat in the chemistry lab minutes before school started as Link concocted bubbles in beakers.

"What are you doing?" I questioned him.

"Playing scientist," he said with a shrug and poured a green beaker into the already red liquid. He stood back and we watched as a huge amount of bubbles formed and popped out of the beaker, filling a wide room of space. "Perfect," Link said and tapped his hands like an evil scientist.

"What are these for then?" Gina says and holds up our bags.

"That my dear dumb friend," Link says and pats her head. Gina glares at him and he instantly removes it. "It's to fill up these balloons. He hands us the balloons and we each begin to put mixtures into them. I can see Link going in and out of the classroom as we finish our job. It isn't long before Link comes back to collect the balloons we have filled and leaves the room.

The next time he enters, he is covered in bubbles that I can't help but smile. "Come on," he signals at us and we follow him. When we leave the room, I see the catastrophe he has created. The hallway was filled with bubbles oozing out of classrooms and covering every inch of the school. There were buckets of water on top of doorways and a giant bucket in the center of the front doorway filled with paint.

"Link, is any of this safe?"

He turns to look at me as we climb upstairs toward the roof. "It's non-toxic paint if that's what you're asking."

"What are we going to do on the roof?" I ask, concerned.

"Paint the town," he tells me with a mischievous grin. And sure enough, when we reach it, he starts throwing balloons filled with pain and shaving cream all around the schoolyard. It isn't long before we see teachers' cars pull up and then buses filled with kids, who are all shocked by the scene in front of them. Some slip on the paint and the place erupts in screams of madness. We see Mr. Webner pull up and I am instantly pulled down as Link and Gina place a hand on their mouth. We don't move from our post as I hide myself from those who look up.

I turn around at the standing duo and voice out. "What if we get caught?" Link and Gina share a look before looking at me with wide smiles.

"We have to make it look like we were also victims, Amelia," Gina says as she bounces the balloon in her hand. "You understand, right?"

She doesn't give me time to respond as she throws a balloon at me. I manage to dodge it but am hit with another one by Link. "Hey," I yell but am quickly ambushed by more. The paint oozes down on me in a thick blubbery layer, and I gasp as I start seeing them as blue and green. Clearly done with me, Gina laughs as she grabs another balloon and hits Link with it. Link retaliates and hits her with shaving cream. Her face is covered in white foam, I can't help but laugh. As they reach for more balloons, I do the same and grab as many as my hand can carry and start throwing. Gina is more flexible and is able to avoid some but still gets hit while Link is less, and is covered from head to toe by the end of it. We lay down as we laugh and look up at the beating hot sun.
