three months later

"beybey! why weren't you at school?!" onika yelled, running towards her best friend. beyoncé groaned softly, turning in her bed.

"i'm sick, nini." she grumbled, opening her eyes a little.

onika frowned, laying in the bed next to beyoncé. she looked at her, touching her forehead. "oh no, bey. i wish i could make you feel better." she pouted.

onika and beyoncé had become extremely close. beyoncé was always at onika's place or vice versa. their bond was the cutest. when onika realized beyoncé wasn't at school, her whole day was ruined. she always looked forward to seeing her best friend at the bus stop. so when she wasn't there, she wore a pout the entire day.

"i'll be okay, nini. i promise." beyoncé whispered. onika held onto her best friend tight. beyoncé looked at her.

"no pouts, nini. smiles only." beyoncé poked her nose then her cheeks. the actions caused onika to smile which in return made beyoncé smile.

the two girls had fallen asleep in each other's embrace. this was something they always did too: cuddle and nap together. at times, onika couldn't sleep without beyoncé next to her.

the girls were woken up by tina. "hey, girls come eat something." she spoke softly to them. onika was a light sleeper so she woke up immediately while beyoncé was the complete opposite. she was a deep sleeper, and it took efforts to get her to wake up.

"beybey, wake up!" onika said into her best friend's ear, but got no response. onika looked at tina.

"momma, can i jump on her?" she asked with a hopeful smile.

"just don't break this bed." tina stood up so she wouldn't get hit somehow.

onika stood up on the bed and jumped on it, flopping onto beyoncé. beyoncé grunted, pushing onika away.

"nini!! whyyyy?!" she whined then began to cough. "i'm sick and you're being mean."

onika couldn't help but laugh in her face. "s-sorry! but it's so fu-fun!" onika spoke through her laughter.

being sick, beyoncé was extra pouty and emotional, so onika laughing at her made her feel upset. beyoncé got up from her bed and stormed to the kitchen. onika's laughter stopped immediately.

"uh oh, did i make her mad?" onika asked tina. her happy smile had turned into a frown. tina nodded and onika could burst into tears. she hated upsetting beyoncé.

"oh no.. i'm sorry, momma." onika's bottom lip quivered, her eyes becoming glossy as they were filling up with tears.

"come on, let's go say sorry." tina got up with onika and they went to find beyoncé.

beyoncé was sitting at the kitchen table with her head down. she heard onika's and her mother's footsteps but ignored them.

"beybey ? i'm sorry for making you upset. do you forgive me?" onika apologized. beyoncé ignored her best friend, just keeping her head down on the table. as beyoncé ignored her, onika felt like she was hated by beyoncé. which caused those tears to fall down her cheeks.

"beybey, please." she sniffled. tina rested a hand on her daughter's back.

beyoncé looked up at onika. "you laughed at me, nini. that wasn't very nice of you. i don't like that at all. please don't do that again."

tina could only smile as she listened to her child communicate her feelings clearly. she felt like a proud mother for practicing communication within her home.

"i'm sorry for doing that. i wont do it anymore." onika wiped away her tears. beyoncé got up and hugged onika. onika was grateful to have had beyoncé's forgiveness. the thought of losing beyoncé was scary.

tina allowed the girls to finish their making up while she got them their plates to eat. carol knew onika had ended up at the knowles' home so she wasn't concerned as to why her daughter hadn't arrived home just yet. plus, tina always let her know if onika was there or not.

onika and beyoncé are their food together. there was never an issue with food when it came to those two. they'd eat anything.

"okay, i have to go home now." onika told beyoncé. beyoncé shook her head no.

"stay with me! i'm sick, remember?" beyoncé pouted. onika laughed and thumped her lip with her thumb.

"sorry, beybey, but i have homework and my mommy isn't going to let me stay without doing that first." onika told her. she knew that wouldn't make beyoncé happy.

beyoncé nodded sadly then got up. "okay, bye nini." she took her plate to the sink then went to her room. she laid in her bed and started to cry. it may seem unreasonable for the child to cry, but beyoncé really didn't want her best friend to leave.

beyoncé ended up softly crying herself to sleep. tina looked at onika.

"go on upstairs with her. i'll tell your mom you may spend the night." tina told her.

onika rushed up the stairs and got into bed with beyoncé. she wrapped herself around beyoncé then smiled softly. beyoncé felt the weight change in her bed then opened one of her eyes. she smiled as she already knew who it was.

"goodnight, nini." beyoncé whispered.

"goodnight, beybey." onika replied back, the inseparable pair falling to sleep.
