The air turned crisp as the autumn winds began to roll in for the season. It was now mid-October and in New York, the leaves on the trees turned yellow with a hint of red. (Y/n) watched from her spot in the window as little kids ran around in what would be their Halloween costumes for the upcoming holiday.

She picked up her sewing needle and the pattern she was working on, stitching carefully. She had adopted this hobby recently as a distraction from the horrific workload of school, and on top of that, a blooming relationship that she couldn't get enough of.

The thought of Eren brought a smile to her face, and although they had only dated for a couple of months, it felt much longer.

As she was sewing, a soft knock appeared at her door and she quickly snapped her head up.

"Come in!" She yelled while placing the fabric on the sewing table.

The door creaked open and revealed her mother holding a teacup. She walked over to the table and placed it there with a smile.

"How's it going?" She asked.

"Just fine." (Y/n) responded, picking up the warm cup, "thank you, mother."

"Eren's on the phone for you downstairs seems important."

(Y/n)'s face shot up in surprise and she bit her bottom lip with a smile, "I'll be right there." She said as she placed her items on the table in front of her.

She quickly got up and rushed down the stairs. Her heart had beat so fast, it could be heard from a mile away... she had always looked forward to hearing his soothing voice over the phone.

(Y/n) snagged the phone off the wall and quickly placed it to her ear, "hello..." she said softly.

"Hello sweetheart, took you long enough." Eren chuckled on the other side, "What're you up to?"

"Oh, nothing, just fiddling around, you know." (Y/n) played with the phone cord and twirled it around her finger.

He laughed a little before speaking again, "How would you like to go out tonight and see a movie? I have a few friends I'd love for you to meet."

"Oh... I'd love to." She smiled. The thought of a movie on an autumn day to ease her stress from school felt like a wonderful idea and on the plus side she got to see him.

"Perfect, I'll pick you up around 7, okay?"

"Okay!"

After hanging up the phone she danced around in the kitchen for a moment before returning to her activity upstairs.

The day went by slowly, and (y/n) couldn't keep her eyes off the clock. The hand that ticked in seconds moved across the circular object pointing at each number individually. 1... 2... 3... she sighed and rolled her eyes. 4... 5... 6...

It was torture but in a good way.

After it reached a full minute, she gave up and found something else to distract herself with which kept her busy for most of the day.

Time had finally rolled around and a car door could be heard from downstairs outside her grand New York home. (Y/n) sprung into action and flew down the stairs with a beautiful blue dress on and her handbag flailing in the air behind her.

"Goodbye, momma!" She yelled as she grabbed the door handle and threw open the large wooden doors. There stood Eren, as handsome as ever, wearing a navy blue suit and holding a small bouquet in his hands. (y/n)'s eyes shimmered at the beautiful flowers and she took in the different colors of reds, yellows, and oranges that were arranged nicely.
