The days flew by without warning and as the wedding date approached closer, preparations were being made. (Y/n)'s beautiful house along the river was now decorated with pristine white cloth and colorful roses around the yard. Tables were dragged into view and staff members scurried around to finish up the necessary touches to a perfect wedding. One thing remained that needed to be done, however, and that was for (y/n) to find a dress. Her mother had offered a hand-me-down of her dress which (Y/n) adamantly shook her head to. Even though it was tucked away nicely in one of their many closets, the old smell of fabric and the outrageous design was almost nauseating to look at.
The only other option was to go get a new one.
(Y/n) had brought a few friends, including Sasha and her mother to a wedding boutique in the middle of town. A small shop which carries your every need for a wedding. The choices were indeed overwhelming and choosing between skinny, tight-fit dresses to an overflow of fabric that dragged amongst the floor seemed to make her head spin.
The right fit would only be made within the first few tried-on.
As she stepped out into the open where the rest of the party remained, a large smile grew across her face. She had picked a simple yet elegant wedding dress that could impress the entire city. The buttons ran down the back of it and ended at the bottom of her spine. The fabric, only made of the finest silk, covered her from the shoulders down. And the lace was delicately sewn around the entire dress, adding exquisite compliments to the rest of the outfit.
"Oh my god!" One of the girls stood up and approached (y/n) slowly, taking her hand and jumping up and down, "It's perfect!"
"I know it!" She teased back, "You think he'll like it?"
"Are you kidding? You're going to make him sin."
"Oh, you!" (Y/n) teasingly slapped her friend's shoulder, "I guess I'm getting it then."
"The whole town is going to be after you! You'll be the queen of Charleston!" Her mother exclaimed as Sasha approached the two of them as well with a grin, wanting to join in on the friendly banter.
"Better yet in that lingerie it comes with."
"Sasha!" (Y/n) glared at her briefly before speaking again, "Well, I better take this off before I get too comfortable. Besides Eren will be here soon to look for tuxedos." She stepped back behind the curtain and began to undress.
"He's not prepared either?" One of the friends asked.
"Men, am I right?" A small chuckle came from behind the curtain, "Don't tell him I said that!"
"Hey... wanna have some fun and try on more dresses just for the heck of it?" Sasha asked with a playful smile.
(Y/n) opened the curtain to reveal her face, "why on Earth would I say no?"
The bachelorettes continued their little party of celebration at the boutique and playful chatter could be heard from afar as they continued through their course of trying on dresses. Meanwhile, on the other side of town, a single man kept his head low in a local cafe. Black coffee, a newspaper, and his best friend sitting beside him as the atmosphere proved a lively morning.
"So... you want to do anything today or are you just going to mope around like usual?" Marco picked up his coffee and glanced down at the half-empty cup, hoping Jean would elaborate on his feelings.
"We're already doing something." He responded in a raspy voice, flipping the page to the newspaper.
"Okay, but something other than this? Jean, you have to do something, bud."
