Marco was in the kitchen inspecting the fridge for any ingredients that could be used up for dinner that night when a sudden knock on the door caught his attention. He looked over towards the source and walked over. He peeked out the small window on the front door and saw Eren standing there in business casual attire, looking ready for some sort of sale. Marco sighed thinking this was going to be a salesman of a sort trying to sell stuff they didn't need but as soon as he opened the door to tell him off, he was beat to it.
The charming man who stood in the doorway faked a smile and had mistaken Marco for his target, but instead of immediately resorting to violence, he wanted to bargain first.
"Hello," Eren said as he glanced around the main part of the house, soaking in its old charm.
Marco was confused, he didn't know what to do or say so he just stood there and stared at the unexpected guest, wondering what his next motive was. Marco had thought he looked familiar but he didn't pay much attention to the detail of it since he was more worried about something happening.
"Nice house you got here," Eren invited himself into the home, pushing Marco aside slightly.
"Thanks...?" He responded, extremely conflicted about what he should do. He watched as Eren danced his way into the house, "Can I help you?"
"I'd like to buy this house."
Marco scoffed and folded his arms, "did you ignore the large sign on the lawn that said 'not for sale?'"
"Didn't see one," Eren caressed the wood of the railing on the stairs, "besides... I've got the money... I'm sure you won't want to turn it down."
"Sure," Marco responded, "let me just get the boss." He turned toward the stairs and yelled up it.
"Jean!"
"What!" Jean yelled from upstairs, he seemed to be irritated already.
"We have a guest!"
Jean came down the stairs, his footsteps heavy along the way. As soon as he saw Eren come into view, his eyes narrowed. He immediately recognized him as the man he had met earlier, who embarrassed him in the middle of the street. He slowed his pace and turned on a slightly cocky attitude, "yeah?"
Eren smiled at him and held out his hand, "I thought I recognized you, let's introduce properly, shall we? I'm Eren."
Jean was reluctant at first but then took his hand and shook it, "Jean... now tell me what you want and why you're in my house."
"Well, I just had to stop and see how beautiful the architecture of this home was..." Eren glanced around the area and the details of it.
"Where are you going with this?" Jean became suspicious.
"My fiancé just loves this house... in fact, she made me stop in front of it and tell me herself that she wanted it." Eren's voice was dripping in exaggeration.
"Fiancé?" Jean crossed his arms.
"Yeah... so, are you selling?"
Jean scoffed, "No."
Eren tensed his jaw and looked down at the floor, trying to hide a cocky smile, "okay, I guess I'll take a different approach. I've got an offer and it's $80,000, that's quite a deal if you ask me."
Both Jean and Marco looked at him and shock. That was quite a lot of money, especially in those years for a house like that. But Jean didn't want to give in to his little play. So he shook his head and once again said, "It's not for sale."
"Fine... but I have one more request of you..." Eren lowered his voice, almost threateningly, "You stay away from her."
Jean narrowed his eyes once more, "And who might this her you speak of be?"
