The master bedroom bathed in the golden colors of the early morning sun and as soon as it landed on (y/n)'s face, she fluttered her eyes open softly. She let out a small groan, followed by a stretch as she turned to her other side to find an empty spot where Jean was the night prior. She placed her hand in his absence and furrowed her brow, wondering where he could've gone this early in the morning. She turned back over and slipped out of the bed, taking a sheet with her so that she could cover her bare body. After wrapping the satin sheet around her, she walked out of the bedroom and searched for Jean. The man was nowhere to be found but the only clue left behind was a note that sat on the kitchen table. (Y/n) picked it up and read it.
Gone into town to pick something up, I'll be back soon -Jean
She smiled as she placed it back down. And as soon as she did so, there were a few knocks at the front door. (Y/b)'s heart pounded in anticipation, feeling excited to see Jean's face after some separation. But as soon as she went to the door and opened it, she was greeted with a different surprise.
Her mother.
Clenching tightly onto the sheet wrapped around her, she slowly exited the door and stood guiltily up against the house. She knew she messed up.
The two of them exchanged small glances of disappointment and the silence was deafening until (y/n) decided to speak up.
"Why are you here?"
"I think the question I'm about to ask is more important," Her mother folded her arms.
"Don't bother, I don't want to hear it from you." (Y/n) sat down on one of the porch chairs and rolled her eyes.
"I'm afraid that Eren knows everything. He was interrogating us last night."
"Oh I know he knows, he came over here and beat the shit out of Jean."
(Y/n)'s mother widened her eyes at this sudden information, "wow."
"So why are you here?" (Y/n) asked as the morning sun bathed the side of her face.
"I'm taking you home."
She scoffed at her mother's reply, "No you aren't."
"This isn't a joke, young lady. You're cheating on the man you swore to marry." She narrowed her eyes at her daughter and placed her hands on her hips.
"What if... I don't want to anymore?"
"Get dressed. We're leaving."
"Make me."
That was the last straw for her mother as she quickly grabbed her by the arm and threw her into the house.
"You better be dressed in five minutes."
Feeling like she had no other choice, (y/n) went up the stairs and dressed quickly. After a few minutes, she appeared back downstairs and refused to look her mother in the eye. When she approached the door, she couldn't help but roll her eyes as she stepped out into the fresh spring air.
"I better see you at home." (Y/n)'s mother was stern as she walked over to her own car and got in it. Without sparing even a second, she was gone and off the property. Now left alone once more, (y/n) sat back down in the chair and pondered. She really didn't want to go back home because she knew of the confrontation she was going to experience. But maybe she should so she could end it once and for all. As she was thinking, a new and different car came rolling down the dirt driveway, approaching the house. A dusty old pickup truck that had faded paint and a few minor scratches along side it. (Y/n) stood up and shielded her eyes from the sun, wondering who this mystery guest could be.
