I'm walking back to school, dread filling my stomach. I'm glad I made it to the front gate without fainting but I don't know how much longer I'm going to last. I'm going to face Hyunjin at one point. That's when I see him.

Shit.

"Felix!" Hyunjin calls out, but before he could reach me, a whole group of boys formed a barrier around me. I take a step back in surprise only to find Seungmin hugging my waist from behind.

"Yah!" I yelp in surprise. Jisung and Jeongin appear behind Hyunjin with an angry look on their face. There is venom and hatred in their eyes.

"Hyunjin. We said not to talk to Felix," Jisung growls. Before Hyunjin could argue, Jake cut him off.

"So this is Hyunjin? The one who hurt our sunshine?" Jake growled, taking a step forward.

"Who are you guys?" Hyunjin glowered.

"We're Felix's friends. From Australia," Heeseung explains.

"And I'm Felix's best friend," Seungmin says. The basketball team appears by Hyunjin's side in a moment.

"Who are these mother fuckers?" Seungmin questions.

"Jeez Seungmin! Relax. These are my basketball teammates and the three short boys on their right are my other friends, including Taehyung," I sigh.

"I don't trust them. Well you can trust Beomgyu, Jungkook, Hyuka and Taehyung. But I don't know about the rest," Jisung says.

"Who?" Enhypen asks in sync. I step out of Seungmin's grasp and walk over to the team.

"Jungkook, Beomgyu, Huening Kai and Taehyung. These four," I sigh, pointing to them.

"Ohhhh," Enhypen says.

"Who are these guys?" Chan asks in confusion, pointing to Enhyen.

"You don't recognize them?" I say. Chan shakes his head.

"They're the Australian Basketball team from Australia. The one I was in," I say. Everyone stares in shock.

"The one that won the Finals and the one all over the Media!?"

"Yeah... that's us," Sunoo grins.

"Sunoo, don't be so full of yourself," Jungwon sighs.

"Excuse moi? It's called✨confidence✨," Sunoo scoffs, rolling his eyes.

"What are you guys doing here!?" Chan asks.

"We came to see our sunshine?" Ni-ki replies.

"Listen, I just want to apologies to Felix--" Hyunjin starts.

"You don't get to. So fuck off," Sunghoon growls. Sunghoon had a threatening aura that seems to make Hyunjin cower.

"Enough, let's go," Seungmin sighs, pulling me into the building. I catch Hyunjin's sad eyes for a second and they beg for forgiveness. I look away, my heart tearing.

"Don't pay attention to him," Jisung says. I nod still hurting inside.

-- time skip --

I had a hard time sneaking away from my friends. Don't know how I managed it but I needed that space so badly. They all started arguing about crap and before you knew it, it got all physical. So I took the chance and snuck away. I let out a breath of relief. I'm walking towards the Quad when a figure appears in front of me.

"Jang-Mi?"

"You ruined everything!" she screams. I take a step back, startled.

"You did this to yourself."

"Hyunjin was mine! You took him away! I should've killed you that day!" she shouts, grabbing my bruised shoulder. I wince but still refuse to raise a hand on her.

"I'm sorry..."

"What? Why aren't you fighting back!? Why are you like this!?" she cries. Suddenly she drops to her knees and starts to sob. If anyone was in place they would've punched her. But there's a reason I still haven't called the police after what she did. There's a reason I'm apologizing to her.

"I'm sorry Jang-Mi," I whisper softly, crouching beside her. She looks up tearful and heart torn. The look on her face makes me want to hug her and never let her go.

"It's not your fault... it was all mine. I just blamed you... I'm sorry..." she mumbles.

Jang-Mi was born into an abusive but rich family. She was constantly neglected and abused by her family members. Her parents would never show an ounce of love towards her. Jang-Mi tried to do everything to get their attention and care. She studied hard, got perfect grades, played multiple sports, won thousands of medals and trophies, she did everything. Yet her family never bat an eye. Soon she started to give up and became mentally unstable. Continuously drinking and taking drugs. She would sleep with men to get rid of her pain but it never worked. She couldn't help it. It wasn't her fault that her world was cruel. She tried to date a popular, famous guy like Hyunjin but even then, he didn't truly love her. Her life was a mess. What could she do? All she ever wanted was to feel loved. Her friends either used her or stayed because of her popularity. Everyone around her was fake. She couldn't go to seek comfort from her cousin, because they perceived her as a gold-digger and a bitch. Jang-Mi was alone.

She takes a good look at me and sighs.

"How'd you find out?" she asks.

"You know that girl who tried to help me out the other night?" I say. She nods.

"Mei. Kang Mei. I know her," Jang-Mi whispers.

"She told me. Mei really wanted to help you Jang-Mi. After what happened yesterday at the cafeteria where you faked getting hurt by me, she called me and begged me to help you, to show you the right path. She could've chosen to say shit about you but she wanted to help you. I do not pity you Jang-Mi. I'm just glad you've held on till now. Everything you have done in the past isn't your fault. Sure it was since it was your decision. But you couldn't help it," I smile.

"I'm sorry Felix. I never meant to hurt you. I'm really sorry..."

"Jang-Mi, as much as I want to forgive you, I won't," I state. She looks up sadly.

"I understand. It's my fault--"

"No. I'm not forgiving you now. But I want a promise from you," I say. She looks at me in confusion.

"Stop taking drugs, stop sleeping with men, stop drinking, and take care of yourself. I want you to pick up the pieces of your messed up life. It doesn't matter if your parents don't love you. Prove to them that you don't need them. Study hard, get a stable job, move out, and grow up to be a powerful woman. One thing I've been taught from a young age is that all women deserve the same respect as men. Gender Equality is key for our world to strive. Please promise me you'll change. The day you come to me, with a genuine smile on your face, is the day I'll forgive you," I say. Upon hearing this, she starts to break down.

"Thank you. Thank you, Felix. For not caring about my mistakes. Thank you for trying to look after my well-being even after everything I've done to you. You're such a kind human," she cries.

"So it's a promise?" I ask.

"I vow, that from today onwards, I will change myself to prove my worth in this world. I won't let anything get to me and I will rise to the heights. Only then will I be satisfied with my life? Only then will I be forgiven for my mistakes," she says with her hand on her heart?

"Good luck Jang-Mi," I say.

"Thank you, Felix. Also... do you mind telling me where Mei is? I would like to apologize and renew our friendship," she pleads.

"Of course," I say. I'm about to find Mei when a voice stops me.

"No need. I'm right here," a young girl says. Mei steps out from behind a locker with a grin on her face. Jang-Mi runs to her and engulfs her.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you," Jang-Mi cries. Mei looks startled at first but immediately wraps her arms around Jang-Mi and squeezes her tightly.

"I'm here for you. From this day forward, I won't leave your side till you achieve your goal," Mie says. I smile at the two of them, silently slipping away.
