Chapter 5

"Miss Karen"

It's the next day after my first time having sex.

And all I can think about is...

The money I made.

I don't even have to go to work today.

I'm gonna call it off.

Probably go shopping and eat out.

I grab my phone and call my job.

The phone rings and blop, someone answers.

"Hello?" Kendrick said.

Kendrick is an associate of mine. He is quite nice. Well, hopefully, they don't need me to today cause I'm not coming.

"Kendrick, this is Dominic. I'm not coming to work today."

"Dominic? Um, Miss Karen wanted to talk to you today."

Miss Karen is our manager.

"Well, tell her I'll be there tomorrow."

"You're off tomorrow."

"Well, tomorrow tomorrow."

"I don't know. She seems pretty angry."

"About what?"

"Emily."

Emily? Why would she be upset about Emily? She quit the job.

I sigh. "Emily... she quit."

"She knows. It's just that-" "Great. I'm gonna go."

I can hear Kendrick sigh. "Fine, I'll let her know you're not coming."

"Thanks, pal."

I hang up the phone.

Now it's time to start my day.

I get up and open the curtains.
