Chapter 14- DCOTU

Different Colors Of The Universe

After what seemed to take forever, I was lead into what seems to be a flower garden, it's strange because those were just regular flowers of all sorts of colors.

"I know this is all too confusing for you, but I feel like you might actually enjoy this procedure, but you may not be happy with your eyes after. So other than that, it won't harm you", says an unknown woman with a slight accent.

Seriously? So I get lured into this place just to look at some flower garden that's going to "effect my eyes", sounds pretty crappy to me.

They then placed me on a tall chair. With that, they also put goggles on me, maybe this is what the woman meant since the goggles show off a colorful background of the once white room, the only thing that hasn't changed were the flowers.

"Do you mind swallowing this dear?", she said holding out a small pill.

"Wait- but that's what the old man gave to me before I fell asleep! No, I'm not taking that!", I exclaimed with my eyes filled with worry.

"Yes. We're quite aware that you know, but please don't be a pain and just swallow, the quicker this goes, the better. Don't you want to go home?".

I thought about it for a moment. I guess they just want me unconscious. But what really bothers me, is that woman telling me that I'll "like this".

I decided on doing what they wanted, all were shifting to different corners of the room, then to me giving me strange glances that seemed off.

Well, as expected, I slowly started to feel myself fading away little by little, the rage that I once had built up inside me now feels like warmth with all my muscles relaxed a-

"She's passed out."

"Alright then, pass the iron rose, we can now start."

When I find my self starting to feel consciousness, I rub my eyes to see tiny specks floating around me and small black dots dancing on the ceiling.

I make sure to rub my eyes once more, only to find indescribable colors everywhere I look, even the flowers!

"Good, it seems you have awoken, though you weren't able to feel anything since we've changed our mind, at least you now have something 'unique' that you're now going to live with for the rest of your life. So, since you're new around here, would you care to state your name and age? The rest won't be necessary".

I replied saying, "though I just met you people, do you promise that you'll let me free after I cooperate once more with your tacky plans and wrong ambitions?".

"Yes. No need to worry about any of that, after all, we did promise you the freedom that you've long desired for."

"My name is Hanna, and I'm 7 years old. There, happy?", I grumble.

"Yes indeed. Thank you very much, here's a sketchbook and a lollipop for awesome bravery, your help means so much, but I'm afraid there's one more thing that we're gonna have to do to get this over with."

"Like what?", I ask sincerely worried.

"Follow, and you'll see".

Once again, I had to follow that cocky bastard, but for some strange reason, he seemed directionally lost.

I couldn't help but let out a silent snicker. Luckily for me though, he didn't hear, which was enough to have me snicker even more.

"Shut your mouth kid, I don't get paid enough to deal with little punks like you".

"Soo, what's your name?", I ask mainly because I'm bored of all the walking.

"Edric, but don't tell anyone I told you my name, got that?", he snarled as a response, which ticked me off.

After we FINALLY got there, I was starting to trust Edric more. Well, mainly because we were talking the entire time since he kept walking the opposite direction, maybe that's something he has that's considered "unique".

Once entering the room, all the colors that I saw around me started getting more brighter.

"Are you doing alright? You seem extremely worried. I'm guessing the colors are more brighter now, are they?", asks Edric.

"Actually, you're right. Do you care to explain how?", I give a slight whimper as I feel my head starting to ache badly. Probably because of the bright colors that I'm not used to.

"Well, you see. The newly bright colors that you see are because of the overloaded stress that you're expressing right now. Also a bonus, you're going to start seeing different colors that no one has ever seen, why do you think we've been so desperate for a test subject? It's like a whole different paradise of colors, and since we have your name, whenever we need you, you're going to come and explain what else has developed over the years. Don't worry though, with your help, we'll make sure to reward you with cash", replies Edric.

"I see then, but why am I in this room?", I ask highly concerned.

"Well, we can't have you remember everything, now can we", Edric replies with an intimidating expression planted on his face, and a much deeper tone of voice.

"Wait what!", I shout, but as I was preparing myself to ask another question, he placed his hand on my mouth, preventing me from speaking anything else.

I just wanted to know. Why me, out of all people, and those kids; what were they being used for anyway?

As I was thinking, he then had me take a certain kind of medicine that was labeled 'BANNED'.

Why me?
