Chapter 19- Mind changing chaos

My only initial thoughts were of how I had managed to escape from this massacre of madness, it was all a lie, he lied to me.

He looks at me with a widened smile, a smile that will stay in my memories for a lifetime, I look at my hands and bend down to pick up what he's dropped, feeling like a new person with the weed I've been forced to take in.

His eyes look down with a much less of a smile that there used to be, and mumbles barely of a whisper saying with all of the remaining courage he's been able to get, "I think I've also been lied to, this is nothing more than worse of sinful nature that I've ever seen, even back then when I've witnessed horribleness of terror, this is something that could not compare to anything I've or anyone else has seen with their own bloody eyes, you've seen this too before haven't you, friend", still looking down at the ground, I see tears in his eyes, consumed by sadness, but that was over when he got replaced with a huge wicked smile of anger, eyes twitching, and mumbling incoherent words to which seems to be to himself, clearly regretting this.

My thoughts were of that one word that he spoke in the very last of the sentence, "friend", it replayed it my mind over and over, now it was my turn to get turned on by rage.

"Friend you say? After you've tricked me!?", I scream at the top of my lungs, feeling an immense urge to speak everything of my mind, but too speechless to put words into a full puzzle.

After my sudden outburst, we both swiftly turn our heads around to find a blaring sound of sirens coming our way, "the police..", he mumbles. I can tell by the look in his eyes that he's severely frightened, he looks back at me and shouts, "run!", I understood, but at least confronting the cops wouldn't seem too bad..

And like reading my mind, he quickly says, "confronting them wouldn't do them any good, now let's get out of here before we get caught!"

Nodding my head as a response, we storm out of the bloody crime and quicken our pace when fear tells us the aftermath of when we could get caught.

We hear shouting of the officers, and huge beams of lights coming our way, which is into the dark forest path.

"Hey!", hearing the rustling noise of bushes and stomping of shoes, he grabs me by the arm and pushes me onto the ground where we're hidden behind a big tree.

Still trying to catch my breath, I hear them saying, "it's pointless, let's just leave already, we'll find them some other time, this forest is huge after all, it'll possibly take months to find them, especially in the darkness of right now."

The other, with a rustier voice then responds, saying, "yeah. Some other time, but just know that we're gonna get in huge trouble once we get back to the station."

"Yeah, figured as much." And just when I thought it'll be over, one shouts, "don't worry! We'll be back for you some other time!"

"Don't make yourself look like a fool, now let's just go already", they both then turn around to take their leave with the big bush that had lead them there.

"That- that was a close one", I managed to say in the most cracked up voice I could muster. He looks at me, piercing his hazel brown eyes into my skull, but to my surprise, he burst out laughing.

"You jerk! We could've got caught! This is a serious matter, fool!", I exclaim, gritting my teeth. He let's go of my shoulder that I just realize during our massive panic, to then just smile at me with his toothy grin, seriously, doesn't this guy know the dangers of being caught? Especially by the cops?!

"Yeah, well we didn't! Say, we should do that again some other time!", he exclaims with that same signature smile he gave me since the start of when we met at the train station.

Come to think of it.. I still have to go to Massachusetts for that trip. "So", he stops laughing to then grab a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. "I've been wondering. Why did you invite me there anyway? Was this supposed to be part of some sort of cult to have people be slaughtered during the singing? Or was there something more, something more.. important?", I question. He then puffs out the smoke, not making eye contact at the least.

"That, is for some other time. Conversations over, nice knowing you," he then gets up from the spot by the tree and takes his leave.

Guess I'll never know then..
