A Trip To The Desert

My heart sank. I kept staring at him, hoping he wasn't standing there. Hoping it wasn't real.

I blinked, rubbing my eyes.

But the scene didn't change. Donnor was there.

And I was in his line of view.

I couldn't tell where his eyes were, except his head was straight in my view, but also in the view of the guards in front of him practicing. He had his arms folded, which got replaced by rubbing of his chin. The slow rub further went up his cheek. The guards charged themselves back, the line of view between him and me clearing up.

Once the line cleared, he had his head turned in a different direction, looking at the guards running towards the board from a distance before taking the shot.

I turned around, breathing a sigh of relief.

He wasn't looking at me. Better yet, maybe he doesn't know I am here at all.

That bastard Watt! He told me no one would be out there. Heck, not only a couple of guards, there was freaking Donnor himself!

I went further inside, dipping my whole body under water, leaving out my face.

The guards took another run, this time going far off, past the long trees and bushes to my far right, across the beach line.

But my eyes weren't on them. It went back on Donnor. He was standing looking at the board, bending over to fix something located at the bottom.

This was my chance!

I bolted out of the water, making a quick run inside the building with the clothes in my hand.

I don't know if he saw me running back. I don't know if he saw me at all.

I made it inside, gasping. Watt graced my existence.

"Welcome back."

Was he being sarcastic!?

"What WeLcOmE BaCk!? You didn't tell me that the guards and Donnor himself would be practicing outside!?"

He scratched his chin. His face was fighting off a smile, which he knew didn't suit his angry face.

"I didn't know they would be here. I tried to stop the boss but he told me it was important. Something big is coming."

"Wait...you didn't tell him that I was there...did you!?"

It was funny that I was scolding Watt, the muscled man I was afraid of when I first met him.

And much to my surprise, he wasn't knocking me out, yet.

"I didn't."

Whew! That's one bullet dodged. It wasn't the idea that he would see me like that, that bothered me. It was the idea that I didn't want to give him a chance to mess with me. And being in a sports bra when he is around wasn't on my list. I am sorry. But it just wasn't.

"You...okay there?"

"Yes...yes...I need more clothes..."

He looked down at the dry cardigan and denim I was holding.

"More clothes? You already have them."

"No...I meant that I want more...underwear..."

He coughed, ordering.

"Go inside your room first."

I sighed, going inside my room. I had nothing but my cardigan to dry off my hair. My bra and leggings were soaking wet.
