I drew in a long breath, shooting a quick message to Taylor before heading inside in my black cocktail dress and open blonde hair. The pacing of my feets fastened with the metal music, my eyes adjusting to the dim lightening of the disco lights.

There were cheers, hooting, claps, and dabs all-around - setting up for a typical bar night.

One of the many I have been working at.

I cut through the crowd, my eyes adjusting on the counter. Fiona was cleaning the ledges, staring at the empty stools.

I caught up with her.

"Uh, Fiona! Hope you are doing well!"

She flashed me a smile, her braces showing up,

"You bet I am!"

"Yeah...."

I smiled, staring at her vast smile and bright face. The shine filtered the disco lights. She continued with the cleaning.
My eyes went on her rag cloth,

"So, anything special? You look way too happy."

Even through the disco lights, one could tell that her face was a tomato.

"Uh...?"

I cleared my throat. Her face broke into a giggle.

My eyebrows wrinkled, clutching the file against my chest. They would be here any minute. I didn't have time for this.

"Ah, actually, I don't want to know, Fiona. I just wanted to inform you that-----"

But her giggling skyrocketed, cutting through my swift voice.

"HEHEHEHEHEH!!"

I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, just tell me, what is it?"

I asked while spanning the room. Taylor would be here any minute.

She gave me a big smile, adjusting the flicks of her hair.

"A VERY HOT guy approached me! And guess what!?"

I saw a familiar face standing at the doorway.

Taylor.

I waved at him.

"He asked me about the bar, the bartenders working here, and ASKED FOR MY NUMBER!"

"Yeah...yeah...congratulations Fiona...now the boss--"

"YOU HAVE NO IDEA! He was so freaking hot! He had the most dreamy eyes and cutthroat face, strong jaw...tall and upright..."

She went on and on in a rant, repeating the same things all over again.

Dreamy eyes, sharp face, strong jaw, tall and upright...blah blah blah...

Taylor joined me, whispering,

"Get this girl outta here. I spotted the brothers coming down the road."

"And he was so--"

"FIONA!" I shouted in her ears, halting her in a freeze.

She rubbed her ears, staring at me,

"You didn't have to shout like that, you know!"

Something came over me. A rush. A wave. I don't know what. A feeling that someone was looking at me.

My eyes spun around, and people floated in my view, dancing and dabbing. Everything appeared normal.

"Callie? You okay?"

Fiona's voice diverted back my attention.

"Ah, yes I am. I just wanted to let you know that the boss wants to meet you."
