My eyes sprung on the voice, making everything stand still except the sirens.
It all happened in a blink. My eyes roamed the fine body, black slick hair, and crystal green eyes.
Jasper.
Saliva caught up my throat. The crowd went dead. I jolted up, Taylor following my lead.
"Jasper!?"
I exclaimed, not able to believe my eyes. My breath fastened. In a flick of a second, the brothers grabbed two women from the crowd, halting everyone speechless.
I froze on the spot.
"No one moves. Especially you, young man. The second you move, these beauties are dead."
The one with the scar pointed his finger at Jasper, grappling the women around his muscled arms with the other. The second brother stood grappling the other women.
Jasper moved regardless. A shot went through the brother's gun, soon followed by people dropping on the floor with their heads down.
My eyes shot on Taylor who stood beside me, his eyes wide open at Jasper. I gulped, fear crippling my stomach.
Jasper lunged forward, but the second brother pushed him back, yelling,
"Where do you think you are going? Go home, Donnor's kid."
"Jasper....?"
I muttered, stepping forward. Taylor's voice rang in my ears in a blur,
"Callie! Don't move!"
Jasper's eyes met mine. I couldn't read his well-rounded face. He said, his eyes still on me,
"There she is...my wife...I am here for her."
My forehead creased, not able to decipher him.
Should I play along? But is he trying to help me?
"You know what?" The first brother said, charging towards me in a fume, Taylor cut through,
"Where do you think you are going?"
His face was boiling, his scar appeared like a monster,
"Where do you think I am going huh?"
He pushed Taylor on the floor, pointing his gun at my head instead.
The dim lightening wasn't enough to do justice to his bland grey eyes staring down my soul.
"You should die, Callie. You are the reason behind all this."
Silence fell over. All I could hear was the beating of my heart against my chest.
"You are the reason LA is dead."
I looked him in the eye, all the courage within me crumbling.
For a split second, no one spoke. Jasper, Taylor, and the crowd. Their eyes were on me.
My stomach twisted in a state of shock.
Why is Taylor not saying anything? Does he also think that I am...?
"We got what we wanted. The files. You are going to die."
His words struck the bar speechless. At this moment, everything stood against me. Tears filled my eyes.
Both brothers stood staring at me, their eyes emotionless, their faces dangling like a horror dream in front of my eyes. Behind them was Jasper, his green eyes staring at me.
I called out to him in a mutter, hoping he would hear it.
"Jasper...please...help.."
A chuckle escaped brother's lips.
