(A/N the video will come up later.)

Claire ran through the market, admiring the shops and scenery as she laughed and played. she felt like she was 6 years old again going to the mall for the first time but this was way better. the group had a hard time keeping up with her as she maneuvered through the crowded space. Toby was getting better, but he stood no chance in a foot race against a track and field girl. Blinky and ARRRGGH! were fast enough to catch her but she kept taking sharp turns and weaving in and out of trolls, movements that the true trolls were unable to keep up with.

Jim, now that he had discarded the torn fabric and replaced it with his tunic, was the only one who could keep her in his sight. he could have caught or stopped her but she was having so much fun, Jim couldn't bring himself to stop her. but he did follow her so she wouldn't get into trouble. that trouble came fast as she started running backwards not looking where she was going and ran into the market's resident hot head.

Claire had backed right into Drall's spiky back, causing her to yelp at the pointy object that struck her back. the sound caught the troll's attention more than the impact itself. both parties looked to the other. Jim cringed at the event in front of him, knowing this wouldn't end well if he didn't intervene.

Claire stared up at Drall in awe. most of the trolls in trollmarket were, honestly, kind of bland and dull, so Drall's unique features and bright colors were enchanting to the human girl. as Jim jogged over to them, he noticed that Drall wasn't mad or irritated that there was another human in trollmarket, but more confused as to how she got in.

Jim thought back to when he first brought Claire to trollmarket in the previous time line. most of the trolls didn't seem too mad at her presence, other than Vendal (who had warmed up to her after she spoke trollish to him), but more shocked and confused. Jim previously thought it was because most trolls had warmed up to him and Toby, but maybe it was the fact that she was female.

Jim pushed that thought away as he reached the two. he gently put his arm over Claire's shoulder, wanting to hold onto her as the instinct to protect her was loud in his head but he held back. reminding himself that this Claire didn't know him like that, but then again neither did Drall. this wasn't his brother anymore, he had to work his way back to that.

the two of them looked at Jim upon his arrival. Jim didn't take his eyes off of Drall as the troll looked at the newcomer with more confusion than he had for Claire. Drall sniffed at the air and Jim could only hope that his half human smell would be put off as he stood next to one. to Jim's relief, Drall huffed out his nose with no anger.

"humans aren't usually allowed in trollmarket, whelp." Drall grumbled addressing Jim. the troll in question gave an awkward smile that turned to a cocky one as he heard the rest of the group finally catch up.

"and yet your trollhunter is a human." Jim said, knowing the others heard him say it. Drall growled at Jim and Jim returned the gesture with his own terrifying vocals, unable to bite it back anymore. Jim had stepped in front of Claire as she took a step back and looked at Toby, who was just as clueless on how to deescalate the situation. Drall reared his head away from the teen in shock from the growl.

" as i said, usually. the trollhunter and skinny friend are the only exceptions." Drall growled not losing eye contact with the boy. ARRRGGH! seemed to have had enough as he moved forward to split the two up. the krubera's back to Drall as he tried to lead Jim away with his arm. thinking the boy didn't know what he was doing or how to act on his instincts. Jim gave in and took a step back with the pacifist.

"make a third exception. she stays." Jim growled back at his brother, in more of a playful manner this time as there was no changing his mind on this. giving in fully he turned from the spiked troll and walked away with the rest of his pack. "רםאבןךקע" Jim mumbled under his breath, a trollish insult that had no real translation. aside that Blinky was appalled as ARRRGGH, Toby, and Claire were all just shocked and confused. the loud gasp from his once father, made Jim realize what he had just said. his ears pinned down as he kept his vision on the ground, ready for the incoming lecture.
