"well, i knew our breed was mighty~" Usurna said, only slightly mad that the whelp was bloodied. "i would have liked him uninjured, but if it was a must," she half asked her soldiers.

"he was ready to run. had we not been there, he would have gotten away, my queen." one krubera said as both bowed their heads to the ruler. Otto rolled his eyes with a scoff.

"i vas not about to underestimate him. this beast of a child has proven that would be a fatal mistake." Otto explained himself. he had no true liking for the queen but she was still of higher status than him, so he had to play nice.

"no matter, as long as he's not too broken." Usurna said with a small huff. she waved at the two trolls and they moved to her unspoken command. tying the youngling with the strongest ropes they had, as per Otto's request, and wiped his face off the blood. "he bleeds red." the queen said, after a moment of actually observing him.

"i heard he was a half breed, part human." Otto scowled, shifting back to his normal human form as the two soldiers had left. to the polymoph, even being an impure himself, the bound whelp was even more so. If anyone in trollmarket were to find out about his bloodline, he would be dead in seconds.

"Interesting." Usurna cooed, lifting the boy's head with her finger. Tilting his head side to side as she looked over his features. With a hum, she let his chin fall back to his chest as it swung a little. "You're free to leave." She waved her hand dismissively at Otto, never talking her eyes off the unconscious troll.

"Are you just going to stare at him till he wakes?" Otto asked, even as he shifted to his krubera form. Usurna glared at him over her shoulder and the German man took his leave, not without an eye roll.

"Gunmar will be most pleased with a soldier like you." She said, turning back to the boy.

Something engulfed in teal light shot past her, narrowly missing her face. Usurna whipped around to find the magic that had come from the whelp, but to no avail as she watched the teal glow fade from her dwelling's entrance.

"Still have a few surprises up your sleeve I see." She breathed, glaring over her shoulder again. The boy was still passed out as a single drop of blood ran down his face from his still open wound.

"OK, so you guys are from the future," Mary spoke. Blinky opened his mouth to correct her but was cut off. "From the future." She said, using air quotes as the troll shut his mouth. "And Jimmy-jam was the trollhunter back then, but now Toby is, but Jim also has the amulet from the old timeline? And that's why both of you have cool armor and swords?" She asked, trying to understand how the amulets worked.

"Yup, basically." Toby said, shrugging his shoulders. "But in the other timeline, the original amulet was broken. So a new one was made, that's Jimbo's." He added, further explaining why the amulets looked different.

"Is that also why he's a king?" Darci asked, leaning over the back of the couch that was moved to the middle of the room.

"The king title was a progressive achievement." Claire said, trying to find the right words. "Although, even with our help, he was the one to pull Excalibur from the stone." She commented, looking over at Toby, gaining a grin from the short teen.

"Man, that's so cool. Wish something like that would happen to me." Steve pouted, crossing his arms. "I want a magical amulet to choose me." He whined, getting laughs from the others.

The universe seemed to have heard him, as a blinding teal light came shooting through the door. Douxie, who had just walked in, ducked out of the way just in time as the item flung itself into Steve's forehead. Both glow and teen fell to the ground as the others rushed to help.
