Raven and Jake begin to get to know each other on their long drive towards the mountains to her uncle's place. They talk about a variety of subjects and discuss their hopes and dreams, their lives and their pasts. They seem to be getting more and more comfortable with each other with every hour of their drive. Jake seems to be growing closer and closer to Raven, and the feeling of friendship starts to creep towards romance as the two of them bond.
"So what was your plans after college before this whole zombie apocalypse shit happened?" she asks. Jake pauses for a moment before replying to her question. "Well, I actually hadn't made any plans. I was trying to figure out my life, but nothing seemed to stick out. I thought about law school, or maybe I would just get a normal job and try to survive and make money that way." He says. "I was honestly kind of hopeless." He looks to her and smiles softly. "How about you?" He asks. "Did you have any plans?" He asks her.
"I was planning on owning my own business. The business was going to be dream fantasy themed, it was going to be a mix of owning a fantasy themed hotel and event planning. After a couple years of setting the hotel up I wanted to settle down in a cute house with someone I love and our kids." Raven tells of her dreams of her what would have been future, smiling softly at the thought.
Jake listens to Raven and her dreams of owning her own business and settling down with a family of her own. He smiles softly at her hopes for the future and feels himself getting lost in her words. He begins to imagine himself alongside her and her plans, sharing her dream as his own for their future.
He looks over at her as she continues looking out into the horizon, seeing the smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. "That sounds like an amazing life." He says aloud, the sentiment filled with his feelings of hope and romantic love towards her.
"A girl could dream right...." she laughs softly. Jake laughs along with her, their moment of laughter breaking the tension between them as they continue the long drive into the mountains. He feels his heart flutter as he hears another piece of her life's puzzle fall into place. "You'll have your dream," He says softly. "I believe it." Raven smiles back at him with a faint blush on her cheeks.

Jake and her have been driving through the mountains for the last hour, talking and getting to know one another. They have made good time on their drive and seem to be reaching uncle's place soon. Suddenly, Raven slows down and stops the car. She turns towards Jake and points out the window in front of them.
"We'll have to make the rest of the journey on horseback." She tells him. "Look at that pile up." A massive car pile up is ahead of them, completely blocking the road and making it impossible to continue driving.
Raven gets out of the car and walks over to the horses who are inside the trailer. She unhooks the horses from the trailer and begins to lead them out towards the road, where Jake is waiting anxiously for her. Jake approaches her as they both look at the massive car pile up in front of them that has blocked their way to her uncle's place.
"It's a good thing you've got those horses." Jake says to her, looking at the horses with anticipation.
"Ya... hey can you grab the chickens cage and our suitcases with our clothes in the backseat please? I'm going to saddle the horses." Raven asks, she goes into the car trunk and grabs the horses saddles. Jake walks over to the car and grabs the chicken cage and their suitcases from the back seat. He walks back over to Raven, handing all the items to her. She begins to saddle the horses, Jake observing her, interested in this new skill he doesn't know. He smiles at Raven. "You're pretty good at this." He says. "How long have you been learning how to ride horses?"
"Since I was 5." She replies. Raven attaches the chicken cage to the horse "Eros" and places the suitcases in the baskets on both sides of the saddle. Jake looks at their supplies and then looks at Raven with a sense of awe and appreciation. He smiles at her and then nods towards her with an approving expression. Raven and Jake stand near the horses as she finishes up preparing everything for their journey, their supplies on the horse's back, the chicken cage above them, and the saddles on the horses. They both look ready to go, eager to finish their journey to their uncle's place in the mountains.
