Raven and Jake stand in the rain, their faces inches away from each other as they listen to the slow music play in the background, the rain still falling all around them and the wind still blowing through their hair. They both get closer to each other for a moment, and then Jake leans forwards and kisses her lips.
The scene feels very romantic, the two of them kissing in the rain, surrounded by an apocalyptic world filled with zombies, yet the only thoughts in their minds were each other at that moment.
Jake pulls away from her right as the broadcast takes over the radio. Raven and Jake freeze, their faces still inches apart, just looking at each other for a moment before the radio broadcast comes through.
Raven can feel her stomach drop as she hears the broadcast. The only question on her mind: do they leave the cabin and try and get away from the area, or do they lock themselves in the cabin and try to ride it out. Jake looks at her, the two of them still standing near to each other, neither of them moving. The broadcast continues to play in the background, and they can still feel the rain falling around them.
The two of them listening to the broadcast and feeling a sense of dread as the broadcast explains the situation. Jake puts his arms around Raven as he listens to the broadcast, feeling a pit in his stomach as he processes the information.
They are both taken aback by the sudden broadcast, being in the northern state area where the nuke will land. The broadcast also announces that the nuke will land in 15 minutes, just long enough for Raven and Jake to have an emotional goodbye before the end. The rain is still falling around them despite the broadcast, and Jake looks at her nervously, not wanting to believe the broadcast is true. Raven can feel herself getting nervous too, feeling the anxiety starting to creep up in her gut.
Raven can see the same sense of dread and fear in Jake's eyes as he looks at her, both of them knowing that they are currently in the northern state area. They both stand in silence, processing the information as the broadcast drones on in the background.
The broadcast continues playing, the words almost sounding like they're cutting through the air and into Raven and Jake's ears. The broadcast sounds alarming and terrifying, the feeling of it being almost like a scene out of a movie, the music going dead silent except for the voice of the broadcaster playing over the radio. "The broadcast sounds so creepy yet so ominous," Jake says, staring at Raven as he still stands near her.
Raven looks up at Jake, and for a moment she has a thought. What if this is the last moment they have together? What if they don't survive in the end? Raven's thoughts are cut off by Jake speaking up in the rain. "Raven... I want to tell you something." Jake's voice is very serious, and she is immediately drawn to it.
"What is it, Jake?" She asks in a soft tone, looking up at him with a look of concern on her face. Jake hesitates, not sure what he's about to say. He looks into her eyes and sees the concern on her face and the fear in her eyes, and he begins to tear up as well.
"Raven, I... I just want to let you know that no matter what happens, I love you." Jake whispers as he takes her hand. "It may not have been long that I've known you, maybe only a day, but I feel like I've known you my whole life." Jake chuckles slightly. They both look at each other for a moment, smiling at each other, Raven with a tear running down her cheek as she looks at him.
