Some people say family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what. Everyone in this huge room is my family. They see me for who I am and accept that. They love me and like to see me smile. They wouldn't be here if they didn't and the love of this family is life's greatest blessing. Being a family means you are apart of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life and even if some of the people standing in front of me may exit my life, I will always love them. They have done so many kind things for me and I couldn't be more grateful.

"Thank you." I whispered to Harry, who was standing next to me, as the herd of people began to chat amongst themselves. Some of them were walking towards me to wish me a happy birthday and I loved every single one of them. They are my friends and my friends are my family.

"Its nothing," Harry waves it off. "You deserve the best." I was about to reply to my lovely boyfriend until two familiar girls walked up to me, cutting my voice off.

"Faith!" They both screeched before attacking me into a hug. I stood there stiff as a board since I can't see who they are.

"We have missed you!" The tall brunette with hazel eyes tells me after the three of us break apart. I analyze her face.

"Wait a minute," I look at the other girls face before realization hits me like a train. "Juliana?" I keep my gaze on the shorter brunette before turning it back to the taller one. "Carly?" They both nod their heads with bright smiles. "Oh my god, you're actually here!" I shout before hugging them again.

"Of course we are, we wouldn't miss your eighteenth birthday party." Juliana says to me after we break apart.

Juliana is the kind of girl that would call you an idiot, but not mean anything bad by it unless she hated you or was genuinely pissed at you. That is just the way she is. She is a very sarcastic person. She likes to laugh sarcastically whenever she sees my friends or I doing something stupid, but it's not supposed to be a bad gesture. I take it the wrong way most of the time. Her and Carly like to push my buttons more than anything and it usually ends up with me freaking out. They think its funny when I am mad, which makes it that more entertaining to mess with my short temper.

Carly can be sarcastic as well, but not as bad as Juliana. Carly is the type of person who cares about clothes, make up, hair, and looking good. She refuses to be seen in public without her hair or make up looking perfect. Juliana is the same way when it comes to that, but she doesn't freak out if you're wearing a non-matching outfit. Carly does. If she sees you wearing navy blue and black or any base colors together, she will snap. She will point it out because that is just how she is. She won't say anything to the person unless she is close to them and obviously since she is close to me, she likes to point my bad outfit choices out and mess with my temper. That's just how our friendship is, we fight, we annoy each other, and we make up.

"Well, I'm glad you two can be here." I tell them. "I feel like I haven't seen you guys in ages."

"Thats because you haven't." Carly says to me. "In order for us to get good scholarships for college, we had to focus on cheerleading. We had cheer almost everyday after school and we also had games and competitions every weekend. We didn't have time for friends and we didn't get to see you until graduation day." She paused. "And when we did see you, we saw each other for a good two minutes."

"Carly, you're acting like we didn't see her at all during the year." Juliana says. "We hung out sometimes and we didn't have cheer every weekend, just almost every weekend. We also had lunch together so we saw each other then." She reminds her.
