"Wake up!" I jumped at the loud voice before opening up my eyes slowly to see my best friend, Crystal smiling down at me. I let out a groan and pulled my blankets over my head. "Come on sleepy head! We have school in one hour and you're not even dressed!" She pulled the blankets off of my entire body.

"Who let you in?" I growled even though I love her to death. I'm just not a morning person.

"Your brother." I looked over at my alarm clock.

6:00 a.m

"He's up this early?"  Crystal nodded.

"He was on the phone with Rebecca." That explains it. I let out a small yawn before sitting up and stepping out of my bed. I then went towards the closet and looked at my side of it.

"What should I wear?" I asked Crystal.  She tapped her finger on her chin before squealing and pulling out an outfit.

"This is perfect!" She squealed while holding it directly in front of my face. I looked it up and down. "Not too fancy, but not too boring." She added.

"I like it," I took it out of her hands. "Good thing our school doesn't care about how short our shorts are." I said before slipping my clothes on.

"Now for your hair," Crystal tapped her chin again. "I got it! We can curl it because I think it looks really pretty curled." She heated up my curling iron.

"Thanks." I said as I took out my make up bag. I quickly put on some mascara and a little bit of cover up. I don't like to wear eye liner because my sisters told me that my eyes look prettier and pop out more without it. Apparently, I have the prettiest brown eyes they have ever seen, which I don't believe. I just think they tell me that because they all have hazel eyes while Mason and I got stuck with our mother's boring, brown eyes.

"Okay the iron is heated." Crystal told me. "Come sit down so I can curl that pretty brown hair of yours."

"My hair is not pretty," I said as I sat down on my desk chair in front of her. "Your's is. Its blonde."

"And fried." I rolled my eyes at that repsonse. She dyed it twice and ever since, she thinks its fried. She dyed the bottom half brown in sixth grade and then she dyed it back to her natural color which is blonde and ever since, she thinks her hair is fried. I'm not allowed to dye my hair so my hair being fried isn't possible unless I don't take care of it properly.

Crystal is your typical high school girl. She loves to be with friends, loves music, and likes to impress boys. She has blonde hair and brown eyes, so I'm not the only one with boring eyes around here. She has been my best friend since the sixth grade and we're inseparable. She is literally like my fourth sister. We both go to Gulfport High and can not stand the small town we live in. Everybody knows who you are and everything you do in this town. If you date somebody, the whole entire municipality finds out. If you commit a crime or get suspended from school, you can't go out in public without being questioned about it. There really isn't anybody you don't know, besides the occasional tourists, but thats it. Its just too small for my liking.

"You're done!" Crystal cheered before shutting the curling iron off and putting it back in my bureau drawer. I smiled then stood up to look in the mirror. It was perfect.

"I love it so much! Thank you Crys!" I gave her a big hug. She laughed in my ear before telling me to brush my teeth so we could go. I did as told then grabbed my backpack before heading out the door.

"Do you have work after school today?" Crystal asked me as she drove both of us to school. I let out an aggravated sigh.

"Sadly, yes." I looked at her. "School and work is starting to be too much for me."
