"Pandas!" Sapnap looks up when Dream runs into his room.
He's a bit older than usual today so Sapnap doesn't scold him for running in the house but he does give him a stern look that melts away when Dream pouts at him.
"What's up?" Sapnap questions, already getting up and off his bed.
"Gogy's cryin'." Dream says urgently. Sapnaps eyebrows furrow a bit with worry, "Do you know why?" He asks.
Dream takes his hand and begins leading him towards George. "Dunno know why, he's jus' upset." Dream mumbles.
He doesn't want George to feel sad! Dream knows firsthand that it's not a good feeling at all. They need to help George feel better.
But he also doesn't know how to comfort George... which is why he went to get Sapnap! He'd know how to help for sure.
Sapnap hums and they reach Georges door. Dream knocks carefully, just how George taught him to, and they wait.
A small "Come in." is heard and Sapnap pushes the door open.
Georges tears have stopped but it's obvious that he's been crying. His face is all red and blotchy and his eyes are still teary and he keeps sniffling and taking shaky breaths, as if trying to hold off the tears.
"You okay, George?" Sapnap sits on the edge of his bed, leaving Dream in the doorway.
"I'm okay." George mumbles, looking away. Dream knows that look, George is embarrassed.
"Gogy, is okay." Dream says, shaking his hands out a bit before walking towards George.
"Is okay to be sad." He finishes his sentence once he's standing in front of George.
George looks up at him and gives him a small, watery smile. His eyes fill with tears again and Dream worries that he said something wrong.
"Um, uh- m'sorry, don't cry!" Dream says, reaching out for George with wide eyes.
"No- Dream, I'm okay." George laughs a bit and Dream feels so relieved hearing him laugh.
"I'm just- nobody's ever said that to me." George mumbles quietly. Dream feels his own eyes tearing up.
"But- but you says it to me all the time!" Dream says, confused. How could nobody ever tell George that it's okay to feel sad?
George simply shrugs, looking down. He's picking the lint off his bedsheet and carefully avoiding eye contact.
"Um, wanna- wanna hug?" Dream asks shyly, shifting from foot to foot.
George seems to think about it for a minute before nodded slowly and turning to look at Dream.
Dream pulls George into a gentle hug and George sighs softly, resting his head on Dreams stomach.
Sapnap rests a hand on Georges back, rubbing small circles to further calm him.
"I'm sorry I can't, like, care for you properly today." George mumbles guiltily. Dream shakes his head. "It's okay, you're sad 'nd we gotta help."
"How about we sit downstairs for a bit? Maybe watch a show?" Sapnap suggests. He knows that getting George out of his room will help him.
George hesitates before agreeing. He doesn't like that his friends are seeing him like this, it's.. embarrassing, to say the least. But Dream and Sapnap reassured him and he can't go against them.
Dream reluctantly pulls away from their warm hug and Sapnap stands before pulling George to his feet.
"Can we get some food too?" George requests as they make their way downstairs, Dream clutching onto Sapnaps hand so he doesn't fall.
"Course we can, anything specific?" Sapnap asks. Dream cuts George off before he can request McDonalds with a small, "Wendys?"
Sapnap snorts quietly at Georges offended look. "Wendys is good." Dream pouts at George and George relents at the adorable expression, "I guess it's kinda good."
Dream hums, satisfied, and turns to Sapnap. "Nuggies." He requests, then he adds a small "Please." that has both caregivers melting.
"We'll get you some nuggies." Sapnap agrees instantly, never able to say no to little Dream, and George nods along.
They reach the couch and George sits then reaches out to pull Dream down with him.
Dream falls onto the couch, giggling as he goes, and George smiles softly at the sound of his laugh.
Sapnap has to grab his phone from his room so George grabs the remote and turns the tv on.
George goes to ask Dream what he wants to watch but Dream shakes his head. "You pick, cus'- cus' you're havin' a bad day." He says, stuttering a bit but getting his point across.
George looks like he might refuse but Dreams pout leaves no room for discussion so he sighs and nods.
Sapnap comes back downstairs as George is scrolling through shows and he sits next to them on the couch. George is in the middle with Dream and Sapnap on both sides, perfect.
"Your usual?" Sapnap asks George and he nods, still paying attention to the tv. He clicks on adventure time and checks to see if Dream would like it before putting it from the first episode.
Then he settles back against the couch, smiling when Dream cuddles against him. His eyes are glued to the screen.
Sapnap doesn't cuddle yet because he'll have to get up anyway to get the food when it comes but he sets a hand on Georges knee and that's enough.
"I love you guys." George mumbles, barely audible.
They both hear it though and the smiles they give George are worth it.
"I love you gogy!" Dream pipes up, smiling brightly.
"I love you too dude, and we're always gonna be here for you." Sapnap says, patting his knee.
George looks down, red with embarrassment but smiling like he just won the lottery.
