"Annie"

He said quietly, but loud enough for you to hear. He looked at the ground, unable to maintain eye contact because he didn't want to see your anguished expression. You felt your ears ring and you couldn't hear or say anything as the two of you stood in a deafening silence.

He seriously just played with you in front of your face. You pursed your mouth shut sealing your saliva that coated your dry throat while silently looking at him. Seeing the pity in his blue eyes as he looked at you in regret if you were that type of girl, you would have slapped the sadness out of his face because he didn't feel sorry. Playing with your feelings like that just to tell you that he was in love with another girl was a violation but you were too sad right now to even be angry.

Suddenly, the buzzer to Armin's apartment rang. He squinted his eyes shut in frustration.

"Shit," he muttered, realising he had that he had company and forgot to reschedule with that company for another day.

You watched as he went to answer the door. Still distraught from his response, you found yourself frozen in place, desperate to escape the situation immediately. You patted the remainder of your tears dry with the kitchen towel fanning your eyes so that whoever it was that decided to come wouldn't notice that you were crying. At this point, you cried all your emotions numb so there weren't any tears left to spare.

Armin sighed loudly resting his forehead against the wall as he sealed his eyes shut. He cursed at himself internally for messing with your feelings and then telling you that he was in love with another woman right in front of your face. He sighed loudly still hearing your sniffles from the kitchen, he then heard banging on his front door as the doorbell rang a few times. You also heard the doorbell and you began taking in deep breaths to catch your breath and calm yourself down.

Armin looked through the peephole before sliding the chain off his door whilst simultaneously unlocking the door. He came into contact with the short blonde-haired girl as she stepped in dropping her bags to the floor. He internally swore to himself knowing how Annie was this could go both ways.

"Were you in the bathroom of something? Your neighbour had to let me in," was the first thing she said as she unlaced her Adidas sambas in grey before unzipping her chestnut brown coloured Urban Outfitters bomber jacket and hanging it by the door.

"How you doing," He greeted softly in an undefeated manner as he forced a smile. He held one arm out indicating that he wanted a hug as Annie smiled slightly, she embraced the man feeling his arm wrap around his shoulders and taking in the vanilla-scented oud that he wore.

The embrace lasted for a few minutes before she pulled taking a look at Armin's face noticing a tinge of sadness in his deep blue eyes.

"You look sick is everything okay?" She uttered flattening the creases that lay on his white shirt before she picked up the brown paper bag that she was holding.
