A Little Lost

For doing so good in his doctor's appointment I let Jonah pick any treat he wanted and he chose to go shopping. He said there was a certain pair of pants that he was dying to get to we head to the mall. We make it to the mall and Jonah leads me straight to the store. I'm a little surprised because the store is a little pricier than anything I've seen Jonah have but I don't mind.

I would spend all of my money just to make him happy. He runs all around the store looking for the pants and I'm struggling to keep up with him. At one point I lose sight of him but he soon comes back with a saddened expression on his face.

"What's wrong honey?" I ask him. He has his head down and shrugs.

"Nothing they just don't hve them, but it's okay." He says faking a smile at the end of his sentence. I feel bad for him but quickly think of a solution.

"Hey we can just ask when the next shipment is coming and preorder or we can online order." I suggest feeling proud of my quick thinking. He shakes his head again.

"No you don't have to I don't even want them can we go?" He says. Now I'm confused because a few minutes ago he was running around trying to find them and now he wants to leave emptied handed. I kneel down to his level and try to find out why he changed his mind so quickly.

"Jonah baby can you look at me and please tell me why you don't want the pants anymore." He continues to stare down at the floor and shake his head. Suddenly a thought comes into my mind.

"Baby do you think the pants are too expensive?" I hold his hands in mine. He eyes don't meet mine so I lift his head with my hand. His lips are pouted and looks to be on the verge of tears.

"I'm so sorry for not looking at the price ." I pull him into a hug and whisper in his ear.

"Baby I would spend all of the money in the world to make you happy because I love you so much. Now I'm gonna buy you those pair of pants and whatever else you want becuse you deserve it." Jonah lifts his head and and looks into my eyes.

"Really?" I nod. "I love you too." He hugs me back and we both stand up. I ask him to show me the pants he initially wanted and he takes my head. I look at the pants and they are very Jonah. I look at the price and it's only $125. I understand how it can be expensive for some people but I have spent a couple of thousands on several suits.

"Ok we'll get these and anything else you want. No matter the price and if you don't pick at LEAST 5 things then I will for you." Jonah nods and I get a basket to carry our stuff in. We go all throughout the store and Jonah picks out 10 things. By the end he was beaming.

We get to the register to pay and when the cashier said the total you'd think Jonah's eyes would pop out of his head. It ended up being a little over $1k and that was the best 1k I have ever spent.

"Thank you so much daddy I really appreciate it." Jonah says holding my hand as we leave the store. "You're welcome baby I love you."

"I love you too."
