A Little Lost

Jonah was devastated at dinner when he had to leave Colin but we talked and he offered to take Jonah out for a day of fun. He told me he had a surprise for him and didn't tell me so I decided to not pry. This works out since I've been slightly behind on work and with the extra time I could probably get ahead.

It's also great to have an extra pair of hands that Jonah and I trust to keep him safe and happy. Jonah is always excited to see Colin especially recently since he's been in and out of the country and there is no telling how long he'll stay so it just makes their time together that much special. Colin would be coming to the house soon to pick up Jonah so he could take them out for breakfast.

"Hurry up Jonah Colin is here!" I shout up the stairs at Jonah after I heard the doorbell ring. I go to open it and I am greeted by Colin with a warm smile.

"Hey man how are you?" I ask making small talk.

"Been pretty good. Even better once I hang out with my best bud though."

"Yeah he has been really excited to spend time with you." Colin smiles and I invite him in while we wait for Jonah to come downstairs. We continue talking and eventually Jonah makes him way down.

"Took you long enough. I think it's almost my bedtime." Colin teases Jonah tapping his mouth to emphasize his point. Jonah rolls his eyes and sarcastically laughs. I chuckle at the two of them and Jonah tries to leave.

"Excuse me sir am I not important anymore?" Jonah taps his chin as if he was thinking of his answer. "You better answer carefully or you can sleep alone tonight."

"You wouldn't!"

"I would." Jonah runs over to me and gives me a big hug and then puckers his lips up at me. I snicker at his urgency and lean down to give him and kiss. It was quick and Jonah pulls away and smiles at me.

"I love you daddy bye!"

"I love you more bye!" And with that they were out the door and gone.

Jonah's POV

We get in Colin's car and he says he is taking us to a new brunch place he recently found. I have heard of it but have never been. On our way there we jam out to some music and show each other some of our new favorite songs. Feels like time flew by and we make it to the cute little restaurant called "Bonnie's Brunch".

We walk inside hand-in-hand like we used to and get seated very quick. We start talking like nothing has changed and I love it.

"So I don't know if Damon told you but I have a surprise for you." Colin says to me and reaches his hand out to hold him from across the table. I gasp needing to know the secret.

"Colin please, please, pleassssse tell me the surprise." I beg hating surprises. He shakes his head and I try to give him my best puppy dog eyes but he doesn't budge.

I suppose he may be slightly immune to the eyes at this point but thats no excuse. After a few minutes of begging I give up and pout. He laughs at me but I don't find my situation to be funny. Soon after our food comes out and I perk up because it looks delicious. I decide to forgive him and we carry on our conversation like nothing happened.

We finish our delicious food and walk out to the car feeling stuffed. I get excited knowing my surprise is coming up soon. At this point I have no idea what my surprise could be.

"So could I pretty please with a cherry on top have a hint at what my surprise is. Anything just tell me something." I almost immediately regret my words thinking Colin would mess with me.

"Ok fine your surprise starts with the letter S." I think at least he didn't say something dumb like "it's on the earth" but it's still pretty broad. I sit back and stay quiet the rest of the ride thinking what it could be.

Colin parks and we walk inside his apartment and I look around and don't see anything. I turn to Colin with a confused look on my face and I think he picks up on it.

"Oh your surprise isn't here yet but it should be any minute." He starts texting on his phone and answers a phone call so I just assume it's work and sit on the couch and watch tv not caring about his work.

He soon comes back into the living room no longer on the phone and sits next to me. I decide to keep my mouth shut about the surprise assuming that I won't get any more info until the surprise arrives. We continue watching the show we started together until there was a knock at the door.

Colin gets up to the get the door and greets someone with a very friendly sounding greeting. I hear him tell the person to come in. I can't see them because there is a wall blocking my view but when they turned the corner my heart dropped...

It was my sister...
