Today I wanted give Jonah a reason to wear his new clothes out so I found a place where we can take a private pottery class together. Jonah told me that he has little to no art talent but he likes to play around with different things in art.
He also said that it's on his bucket list to take a pottery class so that's what I made happen. I want this to be a surprise so I set up a plan on how to get him out of the house.
"I have planned a small little surprise for you." I say down to Jonah whose laying on my chest as we're on the couch watching television. He pushes himself up on my chest to look at my face with a big grin on his.
"What is it tell me please!" I smiled at his pleading and adorable face. I decide to tease just a bit to keep him on edge. "I don't know if I should tell you. I'm just not sure if you could handle it." He looks up at me with pleading eyes.
"Pretty please just tell me what I have to do and I'll do it!" He begs.
"Well it may involve you putting on some of your new casual clothes and us going in a car and heading to... the mall." He looks at me very confused which is exactly how I wanted him to feel. The class isn't actually at the mall. Infact it's nowhere near it but that's what I want him to think.
However he hops up and runs up the stairs to our room to get dressed. I follow closely behind him because I have to get ready as well. We both put on a simple pants and shirt but he is absolutely breath taking.
"Do you like what you see?" Jonah asks after noticing my elongated stare. "I sure do." He hits my shoulder and smiles at me.
"Head on out to the car, beautiful." I say and playfully smack his butt as he walks out. We make it out to the car and I open his door for him. He thanks me and I get in on the other side. My driver already knows where to go so I just talk and focus on Jonah.
"So can I have a small hint about my surprise." He asks me with puppy dog eyes.
"Okay fine. I'll give you a hint...your hint is that we're not actually going to the mall." I smile at him because I know that he already knows that.
"Duh I figured that when we past it 10 minutes ago." I laugh at him and take his hand in mine. I look out and notice that we are close to the studio.
"Do you trust me?" He thinks for a second before nodding and I tell him to close his eyes. He does as told and I get out from my side and help him out of his. We walk into the studio and the teacher sees and greets me with a huge grin.
"Mr. Black what a pleasure and this...must be Jonah." The instructor named Jennifer greets. As she finishes her sentence I uncover Jonah's eyes and as he looks around. Once he realises where we are I hear a loud gasp. He quickly turns around and gives me a huge hug.
"I can't believe you remembered. I have always wanted to do a pottery class." I smile and hug him back.
"I know and I just want you to enjoy it." He looks up at me. "Thank you daddy."
"You're welcome angel." I kiss his head and I followed him as he skipped over to Jen so we could begin.
First Jen showed us how use the wheel and taught us some good techniques. We were not the best, but we had a blast. We each made some sort of vase an then we free handed so little animals. I made a little bear for Jonah and he made a lion for me and I plan to put both of them on my office desk. As we're leaving we thank Jen and Jonah has the biggest smile on his face. I love his smile so much. Best outing ever.
