A Little Lost

Today I have put together a little surprise for Jonah just because he deserves it. He hasn't seen Colin in well over a month but recently Colin had to come back in town and told me. I immediately knew what wanted to do. I set up a day where we could meet and surprise Jonah.

I know and understand how important Colin is to Jonah. I love the bond that they have together and I don't want them to lose it. I can't be more thankful than I already am for Colin taking Jonah in and caring for him. If Colin hadn't Jonah could have never felt safe enough to be himself. I will always thank Colin for doing that.

Jonah is currently playing some video game in the living room with Adrian and it is very evident of their excitement based on their volume. They are both screaming and from the sounds of it seems like Jonah is winning.

Adrian is in on the surprise and it's getting close to time for us to go since we have a reservation. As I'm walking down the stairs it sounds like Adrian wins.

"Oh yeah suck it loser!" Adrian shouts and dances around Jonah. I roll my eyes at his stupidity and rudeness.

"Those aren't very kind words and if you ever speak to my baby like that again I won't be so nice." I say to Adrian in a stern tone and shoot him a death glare. He puts his head down and sits back down on the couch.

"Daddy!" Jonah shouts and runs up to me. I lean down to hug and kiss him on his head.

"Adrian go get ready it's getting close to time." Adrian gets up and heads upstairs and Jonah looks up at me confused.

"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you Adrian and I have a work dinner we have to go to..." Jonah looks at me with sad eyes assuming that he has to stay at home, "but they did say we could bring a guest so I suppose that's you."

He steps back with a huge smile and gasps, "Really? You mean I get to go with you?" He questions excitedly. I chuckle at his outburst and smile.

"Yes that means you can go so get in the shower because you smell!" I exaggerate by plugging my nose and gesturing him away with my hands. He rolls his eyes and goes upstairs. He also knows I'm joking since I'm aware that he took a shower yesterday.

I go up to our room to pick out some outfits for Jonah. The place is a bit fancy but I also wanna give him options. I've never been to good at styling but I have learned a thing or two from Jonah. I lay down three full outfits across the bed.

I wait downstairs in the car with the driver and after what feels like forever Adrian and Jonah come out. They love to take their sweet time especially when it comes to getting ready. Jonah is wearing the second outfit I chose for him consisting a white turtle neck and black trousers complimented with some layered jewelery.

They both get in an immediately start talking my ear off. We arrive in one piece but only half of my sanity and head in.

I go in first to collect our reservation. I tell Jonah to wait and Adrian stays with him while I go and see if Colin is already here and he is. We hug and greet each other and I walk back out to go get Jonah and Adrian.

"Alright they're ready for us to go back, let's go." I hold out my hand to which Jonah takes and we walk into our area with Adrian following us. As we walk in Jonah is looking up talking to me not noticing the other person in the room.

We stop and Jonah turns his head to see Colin standing up. He gasps and then jumps into Colin's outreached arms almost knocking him over. Colin looks just as excited to see and hold Jonah after so long.

"Alright I'm starving let's sit down so we can eat." Jonah continues latching onto Colin.

"No." Jonah argues into Colin's shoulder. Colin is not small but he is smaller than me so I know that it can't be getting too comfortable holding Jonah standing up.

"Jonah get down you can sit next to Colin in the booth." I say to Jonah in a slightly more serious tone. He realises I'm not playing around so he gets down and sits next to Colin. We all talk and discuss how life has been and have a great time. It's always nice to just sit around and catch up with friends and family.
