A Little Lost

Jonah woke up this morning being kind of clingy and wanting to see Colin. I wasn't really in the mood to see Colin today but Jonah mentioned that he wanted to apologize so I guess today will be the day.

I text Colin and I asked if he was free and wanted to hang out with little Jonah, already knowing the answer.

Eventually he texts back and says yes so I let him know we'll be there after while.

Jonah and I hop into the shower real quick to clean up and then we continue the rest of our morning ritual. We head downstairs with Jonah happily bouncing on my hip.

I ask Jonah what he wanted to eat and he said mini pancakes, strawberries, and avocado. He lets me sit him infront of the tv while I cook.

I put on paw patrol and give him his paci and he happily becomes engrossed in the television.

I go back to the kitchen and began working on our breakfast. In the middle of preparing the food I get a text from Colin. I wait until I plate the food to respond.

He asked if Jonah's interest changed, how old Jonah is, and if he needed anything immediately upon arrival. I quickly answer his questions and then I call for Jonah to come and eat.

He doesn't come to I go in the living room to get him where he is dozing off.

"Hey baby do you want to come and eat?" He perks up and nods his head but I can tell he is still tired. We sit down to eat and with each bite Jonah is more awake.

I know it's only temporary so I'll let Colin know later. Meanwhile I take Jonah back upstairs to pack a bag with some necessities and some of his favorite toys. Once we are both satisfied with his picks we head downstairs.

I decide I'll drive us since I'm just coming home after I drop him off. I figured I could stay home and work while Jonah was gone so if anything happened I could get there asap.

Jonah practically drags me out of the door once we have everything ready to go.

On the way there I let Jonah know that he can ask for me anytime he wants to come home or just wants me.

I know Colin would never intentionally hurt jonah but I just want to let him know.

According to Jonah it took us long enough to get ther but we eventually make it.

I carry Jonah to Colin's door and I can tell that he is very excited to see him.

I knock and wait for Colin and eventually he opens the door with a big smile.

"Bubba!" Jonah shouts before anyone can say anything. He immediately reaches for Colin and jumps in his arms.

"Hey buddy I missed you!" Colin says returning the same energy. "Hey buddy there is some stuff for you in the living room if you wanna go see it."

Jonah's jaw drops and he quickly wiggles out of Colin's grip.

"Hey are you not gonna tell me bye first?" I call out before Jonah can run away. He launches into me and gives me a hug and kiss that I return.

"Bye daddy I love you!" He as he pulls out of the hug.

"I love you too be good okay?"

"'Kay!" Jonah shouts as he runs to his treats awaiting him.

"Damon I just wanted to sincerely apologize for my recent behavior. I really had no ill intentions. I'm really sorry for truly being a dick. I never wanted to upset you or especially Jonah." Colin says with full sincerity.

I can tell he is being genuine and big Jonah already told me that his actions and apology to him were pure.

"I forgive you. I know that Jonah already forgave you and I trust his judgement so we're good." I say and extend my hand to which he gladly shakes. I can see him visibly relax.

"And don't let his hyperness fool you. He'll probably be ready for a nap soon. But besides that not much has changed since last time so have fun. See you." I warn before heading back to my car.

"Bye!"
