CHAPTER TWENTY: 𝙄𝘿𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙏𝙔

  "𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩!!! "  Nikki exclaimed, She couldn't believe that the Board of Directors would try to deprive her of her right. She was the late Chairman's daughter and she had the right to take over her Dad's company. After all this was her Father's company, why would they do such a malicious thing as that. She looked at her Uncle and she could tell that he was delighted by what Manager Baek said.

  The shock that the Board Members received by Manager Baek's second announcement was unforeseen.

  Manager Baek stood still and said "Although Miss Nikki won't be able to manage the affairs of the Company through the office of the Chairman, She must in any case take the office of the Managing Director. Since we are currently without an MD (Managing Director)."

  Uncle Rufus gritted his teeth a little bit while he also smiled. He still held the highest position in the Company, He thought that the Board Members would make Nikki acting Chairman in place of her Father but this was better than what he had expected. If he were alone, he would have let out a victory laugh. Unknowingly to him that Fate had a different plan in mind.

  Mr Alex stood up and said  "Thats...." he was cut short by Manager Baek. "Sorry Mr Alex but I haven't finished my speech, Miss Nikki will manage the affairs of the Chairman so as to reduce the burden of the Vice Chairman, am I right Mr Rufus? " she said in a devilish manner.

  Uncle Rufus suddenly woke up from his thoughts, he knew that Manager Baek was up to no good. He needed to provide an answer or else he'll look suspicious.  "Oh yes, You're right. Am filled with lots of workload" he said as a sweat ran down his face. 

  Manager Baek Sheila, a Devil in a professional's clothing. Known for her manipulative power, it's said that whatever Manager Baek suggests the Board members will side with her. She usually kept quiet at most times but whenever she gave suggestions it was usually treated as an Hotcake. Rufus didn't know why she decided to speak in this matter as she mostly acts cold during the Board  meetings.

  "She'll manage the Chairman's duties but she'll be reviewed by the Vice Chairman and the Board of Directors. After all she's the daughter of the late Chairman. She'll be able to take over the office of the Chairman if she can fulfill these terms and conditions. First she'll be given two weeks to appoint responsible workers as her personal assistant (PA) and Secretary. She must be able to achieve amazing feats in a less than a months time. If she successful does these things then we can reconsider making her the Chairman. But if she cannot perform these things then she'll have to forfeit every right to become the Chairman, does that seem well dear Directors." Manager Baek said as she looked intently at the Directors.

  "Oh yes", "Wonderful, such a brilliant idea", "We couldn't have thought of a better idea.", "There should be no need of any argument", "Agreed", "Agreed". The Board Members agreed to the idea, Uncle Rufus smiled and was happy for his Niece as he expressed his happiness towards his Niece.

  Mr Alex stood up delighted that he finally had the opportunity to talk without being interrupted. "With that the Board Meeting comes to an 𝙀𝙉𝘿.... "

   ⚙ 𝘼𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙨 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥 𝙊𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙨 ⚙

   At the entrance of AG(Adams Group) of Companies, reporters stood outside waiting for The Chairman of AG enterprise. It's said that no one knows the identity of the Chairman. They had a tip that the Chairman was coming for an important meeting, so they were waiting outside to get a scoop on his identity.

  Adrien Adams, Son and Heir to the Adams family.  Handsome and smart, his green eyes could make the people's hearts melt. He had a chiselled jaw and a beautiful pointed nose, beautiful lips and a black -brown hair, The Adams family were Owners of the Adams Group, they're known as the most powerful, wealthiest enterprise in the world. They rank as number one in the business space. From their outstanding monthly and annually revenue, to their astonishing services and products. The Adams Group enterprise are said to be among the top ranking business organization in the world.

  Adrien Adams had to take on the office of the Chairman ever since his father had taken I'll. Though his Father did his best to avoid the Paparazzi, he wasn't sure he'll be able to do so. 

  He was heading to the office for an important meeting when he got a report that some reporters were at the entrance of the Company. He turned towards his best Security guard and said "Jake can you pretend to be me?". Jake looked at Adrien and said "Sir, I certainly can't do that."  

  "Even if it's an order?" he asked as he tried to persuade Jake, "not even close" Jake said as folded his arms to show he meant business. Adrien sighed disappointed that he couldn't convince Jake. Jake was a tall guy with a smooth face, a chiselled jaw, blue bell eyes, black curly hair. He usually wears a black suit with some black pants, a pair of suede black shoes, dark sunglasses and a pair of black earpods. He had a gold-red coloured badge that signified that he was a high ranking Security personnel to the Adams family.

  Adrien decided that he needed to coerce Jake into doing his bidding, sorry Jake you've got to do this, he smiled as he thought of his genius plan.

    At the entrance of AG enterprise an exotic black Limousine drove up to the entrance. The reporters surged forward to get a glimpse of the expected mysterious Chairman. The doors of the Limousine opened as guards surrounded the vehicle, a leg came out of the Limousine wearing an expensive Italian shoe. The Reporters were talking pictures when the leg's owner fully came out of the vehicle. 

  The man who came out wore an expensive $25000 dollar suit, a pair of black suede shoes, a Rolex silver watch worth $30000 and a pair of black earpods and dark sunglasses. He was about to walk into the Company when he was suddenly blocked by reporters.

  The reporters began to ask various questions.  "Hi Sir, are you the Chairman of AG enterprise?, " Sir, what's your name?", "Sir, did you know that the world has been yearning to know your identity?, "Sir do you......." the reporters were throwing dozens of questions at the Man .

   The man looked at the reporters and removed his dark sunglasses and said "Excuse me, Am not the Chairman of Adams Group of Companies......". The reporters looked at him surprised at what he said

  Adrien walked carefully as he watched the scene that took place at the entrance of the company. Adrien walked discreetly as he planned on sneaking past the reporters to enter the company. He had succeeded in persuading Jake to agree to his demand. He made Jake ride in the Limousine, he gave him his expensive $25000 suit, his $30000 Rolex watch. That should make him pass as an important person. Which would cause a huge distraction.

  He sneaked past the reporters as he was close to the entrance a reporter walked up to him and said "Hi, you look familiar to an unconfirmed image of the Company's Chairman, can you tell me who you are exactly? ........"

  The Board members filed out of the Board room, Nikki walked towards Manager Baek and blocked her path. 

  "A word Manager Baek..." she said with a smile, they both walked to some empty seats at the hallway.

  "Hey!!, Miss quirky face. You almost gave me a fright in there" Nikki said as she sat down with Manager Baek. " May I ask you a question?"  she asked, "Go ahead" Manager Baek said coldly as she looked straight without blinking.

   Nikki thought hard of what to say, then she said coldly with a dangerous venom "Why did you do what you did in there?...".
