Linked Dreams (A school au)

Chapter 3
I stopped at the bottom of the staircase when I heard the scream of one of my classmates.

Hmm? There's someone else here besides me? I began to head towards the sound. I then slowed down, realizing the scream was coming from the opposite direction of the front entrance.

I looked towards the front entrance, then back towards the direction from where the scream came from.

"Uhhh, whoever that is, I'm coming!" I shouted, hearing the yell of help again.

I headed towards it, hoping the student was alright. I turned a hall then headed down the ramp that led to the cafeteria.

I was surprised to see that the lights were on. Good, finally some light. Not that I'm scared of the dark of course..
I entered the cafeteria, glancing around as I heard the scream again. "Hello?" I called out, weaving between the closely packed lunch tables.

Suddenly, I saw an object on a table at the corner of the lunchroom. I made my way over to it, curious to what it was, then once I was close to it, I reached my hand towards it to pick it up.

I immediately jumped back in alarm as a recorded scream erupted from the radio like machine.
I stared at it for a while, baring my teeth. If my guesses weren't deceiving me, then there was no student yelling for help, it was this radio thing.

The radio let out another recorded scream, but before it could do it again, I picked it up with both my hands and smashed it on the ground.

The peices flew up everywhere before falling back onto the ground, creating a little clatter of noise.

"Why was this even here?" I wondered aloud, then turned back towards the lunchroom doors I came through, disappointed to see that the doors were closed.

"You've got to be kidding me. . ."
I went over to the door and tried opening it, but like I guessed, it was locked.
This place is screwing with me. By the time I get out of here, it'll probably be midnight!

I looked up at the clock, but I was stunned to see it was splashed with a black substance. My guess was that it was paint.

I turned away from the locked door and headed over to a smaller ramp that led up to another cafeteria exit. Which thankfully wasn't locked.

I left the cafeteria and turned left, beginning to head towards the main office. The main office is right next to the front entrance, so that's where I'll be heading. Again.

I continued down the hallway, completely aware of the small moving things I saw in the shadows of the halls. I need to turn on the lights for the hallways...

"Why is this happening to me..Did I do something terrible in my last life or something??"

I then began to walk towards the wall of the hall for the light switch, until a moving shadow moved from out of the darkness.

"AHHH!" I ran back to the center of the hallway, only to realize it was my own shadow.
I exhaled heavily before slapping myself in the face.

Hold it together Zotan! As I yelled at myself, I suddenly heard the fire alarm go off. I covered my ears with my hands immediately, crouching down on the ground.

I looked up. I began to see thin smoke begin to cover the school ceiling of the hallway. The sprinklers must have sensed it so they immediately went off, spraying water everywhere.

There's a fire!
