Chapter 17
At least now I'll know what to do if I fall asleep.

Continuing to walk, I stumbled a bit because of my tiredness, feeling as if my eyes would close on me at any moment.

"Are we almost there yet. ."
"How should I know?? I don't even know where I'm walking."

. . . .I'd rather be lost in a forest with someone 'smart' maybe Kaida. He would know exactly what to do.

"I want to stop walking. I'm so tired."

"I'm not gonna stop walking just because your tired. Staying awake isn't that hard. I could run a marathon right now!"

"You should run a marathon to the nearest tech store...fix my damn phone."

"What I don't understand is why you didn't call for help and not some stupid friend of yours."

"I needed to find something out..."

"Yeah, find out how to get the hell out of this place. But nooo, you think a little story is more important. You dork."

". . .it's my phone. I can do what I want with it. Where is yours?"
"I left it in the cafeteria."

"Oh."
Will I make it home before the end of this day? I really hope so. I can't bare to know how much Holtar must be concerned about where I am.

Walking further through the thick bushes, I heard a rusting sound come from ahead.

"Did you hea—" my sentence ended as I saw I saw the familiar face of Kaida emerge from beyond the undergrowth.

Am I hallucinating?

"Hi Zotan. Hello...Hako??"
"It's 'Hakun' you dumbass.."

"Kaida! Please tell me you know how to get out of here."
"Haha your acting as if you've been here a week. And yes, I know the way out. You two just have to follow me."

"Only since yesterday. And it's been terrible..." As I said that I casted a side glance at Hakun.

"Couldn't have been that bad. This is the first time I've heard Hakun be so quiet!"

"Besides that, how'd you get here so quickly? I called you like an hour ago."

"...so, how did you guys sleep. Do you like nature?"

"Uhm no I didn't sleep." Should I finally tell him about those dreams though?

Kaida turned to face me. "Why haven't you slept? It's not good to avoid sleep."

"Uhmm, i ca—"
"Start walking Kaida. I don't want to be in this gross forest any longer." -Hakun

(You prolly won't catch me using TOO much figurative lenguenge because I feel so goofy writing it most of the times)

"Calm down, Hakun. I think we should let Zotan rest up a b—"

"Hell no. I'm not gonna waste my time on that junior."

"Senior.." I muttered angrily. (Why'd that feel so goofy to write 😭🙏)

"Okay then. Let's start moving

Kaida led the way towards the west, seeming very confident.

"It'll take a while  to make it back to the school by the way. You two wandered very far into the woodland."

"Mhm."

Kaida looked over his shoulder at me. "I see. Your sleepiness must be really affecting your mood. You sound depressed, Zotan."

I was about to reply till I heard Hakun laugh quietly.

I don't care. I will not sleep.

"It's fine. I'm not even that tired.

"Suree, we'll pretend like you weren't BEGGING to take a break so you can sleep before." -Hakun

"No more arguing, let's keep moving."

Author note: sorry bout the suddenly slow updates. While I'm at school I write down the story drafts for THIS on my school cromebook and then transfer it onto here, but sometimes I forget abt Wattpad and ALL the story drafts just fill up on the google slides I type em on. This is Chapter 17 right? (Ik that) I'm already working on Chapter 30 something 😭 I think
